I once went on a demo in London about student loans and was chased up a street with a police horse ... incredibly frightening BUT if the cause is a righteous one, then it is worth it ... everyone only thinks about their own life, problems, etc. - with little regard for the bigger picture ... civil courage is also important!

Germans hardly every demonstrate. There was only a short time in history when they did so - but nowadays it is all gone. We also don't really have revolutions (only very small ones that hardly count even though some people are very proud of them).

And there would be a couple of things we should go on the street for....

Petrol prices
The German Schooling system
Opening hours of shops
Too many adverts and too long advert breaks on tv
Bureaucracy
New spelling system in schools

Strange, but true ... I have in fact been chased by a horse, or rather a bitchy pony (Islander) ... we had a mutual hate for each other.

Learning to ACT normal can be very useful when you want to blend in to the crowd. To BE normal, on the other hand? What's the point? It's been done before and it's uninteresting even in people who are more skilled at it.

Last week, I made a pie with leftover beef shortribs. I made the crust with the fat skimmed from the meat and, instead of the usual carrots, I used parsnips.
