So glad your notebook is at least semi-functional again!
(If it still shuts down for no apparent reason, check the temperature. Sometimes my Mac acts up when the room is too hot or cold.) Here's hoping you don't have any more trouble.

hstwrd, I've always made sure that it doesn't get overheated, heat definately isn't the cause.

It's a bit odd, to think that the notebook could shut do´wn any minute - and nothing I can do about it. Everybody who has lost whole postings through hootoo's misbehaviour, knows how frustrating that is

Hope you can get it sorted, Bel, in one way or another - and sooner rather than later.

The notebook shut down a few minutes after I had posted, and no way to restart it At my son's PC now

Awww,maybe if you try it again in a while it'll start up again???Would love your adress if you get the chance to e-mail it ,although i understand it might be awkward for you

My notebook is down again, can't get it restarted
And hubby has restricted the boys' internet access to 2.5 hours a day, which means that I'll not get online at all anymore

So get him to open it up when they've gone to bed

No chance of that, I'm afraid It's a mere demonstartion of who has the power over all PCs My son was so generous to give me his last five online minutes

Eeeep! I hope this doesn't last too long.

We managed to prevent this PC from being blocked, but for how long remains to be seen
I've tried to talk hubby out of blocking this PC, but he's very stubborn, and sooner or later, he'll have his way, I'm afraid.
He ordered a new harddrive, to retrieve the data from the spare PC, I only hope it will arrive soon. I have no idea why I'm not allowed to use that PC now, it's not as if I was interested in data on there, just want to go online, makes me wonder what exactly IS on that PC

I read some where that majority of second hand pcs has undeleted porn files.

I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm to let me have the spare PC as it is, it's strange that hubby objects to it
