Death of a notebook/ laptop

Thank you all so much
My friend was here for breakfast, and she knows somebody who repairs PCs and notebooks/laptops and isn't too expensive. I hope he'll be able to repair mine, or atleast access it so long as to get me some data I urgently need - the data for my flight to London next year, I didn't print it - a serious mistake, as it turned out

Don't worry, FF, at the moment, I hardly respond to anything new - like your latest journal, for instance
Must dash now, supper to cook

I can live with that.
Missing you B...I'm checking out the London Freecycle site daily to see if anything comes up, if it does I'll nab it and get it to you at the meet in January. Hopefully you'll get things sorted before then though.

I'm glad you can live with it - but can I ?
Thanks for all your efforts, I do hope it can be mended, but don't know yet. I'm missing you, too, and all the other things I used to do, like reading Guide Entries and sometimes commenting on them, same as journals Ah well, I'll have to make the best of it - atleast, I now have time to write all the christmas cards I've bought
If you want one, send me your address

Ok so here are the good news : I have my notebook back, and it works right now.The bad news is: They couldn't find out what's wrong, but during the test phase, it shut down after 45 min - so that's what I have to expect now.
But that's still better than no notebook at all, isn't it ?

Computers have a habit of doing that, mine kept freezing after about 20 minutes I got Excelsior over to have a look at it and you know what, it worked perfectly ing things *Mutter Mutter*

It's , isn't it ? It didn't work at all when I gave it to my friend, and now it works perfectly fine, except for a few things I've noticed - my picasa has vanished, and something called active x is deactivated

Reef, yes, outlook is working fine. Meanwhile, hubby had called BA, he was convinced the harddrive was 'dead', and although I told him to wait until we heard some news concerĀ“ning the notebook, he insisted on calling them. They gave us the reference number without a problem.
Jabberwock, you can't imagine how glad I am to be back - the sounds aren't good right now, though

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Dec 10, 2005
That's really good news, when my hard drive dies I nearly cried when I lost everything

Yes, I would have cried, too, if I had lost all the data I'm thinking of transferring my most needed things to one of my son's PC Must go to sleep now, order from above
See you
