Well, precisely! Overpriced, over hyped nonsense aimed at our vanity and fear of aging. My guess is that the 'natural' stuff you find lurking in your fridge are pretty much as effective as all the lotions and potions. smiley - erm

Well, not quite, there are some on a natral basis, to tests on animals involved to produce them, no parts of living or dead animals contained in them, which are quite good, really. You know, the cucmbers you can buy here contain a higher dose of chemicals than some lotions. smiley - yikes
Talk more tomorrow, must go to smiley - zzz now.
Goodnight smiley - smooch

I don't have any wrinkles and I don't smoke or drink al-cee-hol, but I drink lots of water. I also eat a lot of chocolate.

My advice to you, up your smiley - choc intake by 100%smiley - ok

The St Ives brand makes a gel with cucumbers in it for tightening skin. I think it works well under eyes without the tears and it isn't expensive.
The film/TV folk over here use hemorrhoid medicine under the eyes too!

Olive oil is very* good for the skin: the last time I had a massage from my friend who is a trained massare (however its spelt), she used olive oil; she'd found it better than the 'proper' massaging oils, though she did say that on men, such as myself the skin thends to absorb an awful lot mor ethan it does on the female body smiley - weird I sswear that after that massage my skin on my back was as moisturised as it'd ever been, and stayed as such a long time, certainly worked better than all the rediculsuly expensive moistursors I've bought over th year smiley - weirdsmiley - erm

I wonder how oil can actua´lly give your skin moisture, I mean : fat,ok - but moisture ? smiley - erm

Good point, B', since oil repels water. What I'm told is that it just seals in the moisture that's there. That makes it a good idea to moisturize while still damp from a wash. However it works, I do know that when it's the dead of winter and my whole body is one big itch smiley - groan, a massage with oil is very helpful.

red's mediterranean beauty tip!

And hot summer sun. On a 2 week holiday in Cyprus in July I took to smearing a load of Atrixo handcream on my face every morning. Worked wonderfully - despite my friend laughing at me!

hstwrd, there must be something in what you say, for the Weleda lemon body oil they suggest that you use it after a shower or bath, on the WET skin. Is nice - if you like the oily feeling - I don't smiley - erm

Red, wish I could afford a holiday in Cyprus smiley - biggrin

The oil can get a little icky. I bought some "body conditioner" the other day. Put on after shower, then rinse off, except sometimes I don't rinse it. It doesn't seem to matter much. It feels a lot like hair conditioner to the skin. Soaks in more like a lotion than an oil, so not messy.
