Just watched Batman Begins - excellent film - far better than any of the others and great cast. Now waiting for The Wedding Crashers smiley - smiley
Are you watching Bleak House and/or Egypt? I've enjoyed both. I've recorded Rome but I'm not sure whether I'll like it.
As you can see I have a fairly catholic taste in Films smiley - smiley
Doesn't stretch to Star Wars though (except for the first one)

Batman Begins is good: I'm a bit divided as to whether it's better than Tim Burton's first one, but it shows the same Frank Miller Dark Knight influences.

I'll probably give The Wedding Crashers a miss and I've never got on with Dickens: I blame those BBC Sunday evening serials.

Rome was pretty good actually; last night was the run up to the Caesar vs Pompey civil war. The actor who played the Midshipman who had his arm amputated in Master and Commander is playing Octavian. I think you'll like it: one review described it as "Boncus Maximus"smiley - winkeye

I like a good mindless laugh on occasion smiley - smiley
Bleak House is good cos they're trying to recreate the original Dickens format of a weekly read/view and the cast is excellent except for one character who, in my opinion, isn't foppish enough.
You didn't mention Egypt (which has no sex and, on first viewing, no violence either)
Do you read books?

I read quite a lot, although my "to read" pile never seems to get any smaller. Presently I'm in the middle of a book about the Agincourt campaign, before that was an interesting biography of Fritz Haber and Terry Pratchett's Thud! (Don't think I'll bother with the companion volume "Where's my Cow?" though.)

Peter F Hamilton's Judas Unchained is probably next on the list...

Hve just told her what you said and her response?
"It is dire - dark and depressing - makes me want to slit my wrists - not what I want to watch on a Friday night!"
What can I say?

Like I said, excellent taste.

Although the possibility that anyone might want to watch something that depressing on some other night is rather strange...

I believe you told me you were something to do with IT - I am stuck.

For some reason everything on my laptop has gone huge - so huge everything won't fit on it.
I've tried altering the icon size - it says it's already on small icons. Tried altering the text size - text goes sightly smaller but everything else stays huge.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Try the screen resolution: if Windoze thinks you've got a tiny screen it will expand things so they're still visible.

It should be somewhere under "Display Properties" on the Control Panel (or the rearmost tab when you right-click on the desktop for "Properties")

You are right - I think it does think that. I tried that last night with no success. Just tried again - still no luck. There are two screens shown as '1' and '2' but it says '2' isn't active - not sure what's happened but my grandson was playing on it when I went to the shops yesterday and my daughter closed the machine down.
Is there a key they could have pressed inadvertently?

Have finally got it back to normal but not until I used System Restore and reinstalled my anti-virus software!

There shouldn't be a single key that buggers things up so comprehensively, but perhaps the "just looking" went a bit further than intended.

Glad you've got it sorted, anyway smiley - smiley
