Just popped home to type the first few pages. I've done 47, so feel pretty tired. Coll has cold, so going back to see her. Then I have to see a friend this evening.
Tulips, what a novel idea. Must get some for Cioll. She loves roses though.
Bye bye
Back soon.

Coll's cold gone. Back to continue typing play. May not be on for long as I wish to get into the play. My friend wanted to do it, but I know he'll change things. He suggested sending it off to a professional script typist, but not only do they cost money he may again decide to change thing when he contacts them. At least my way I have some control. He can be very arty farty, Harold Pinter Tennessee Williams and although those wonderfuol lines of obscure dialogue sound great, they do nothing for todays audiences, or me. I'm a great believer in less is more. All those great big waffling paragraphs of deep meaningful dialogue which really mean nothing, if you know what I mean. have no effect, but to waste time and try the patience.
Anyway, enough of this boring rubbish.
How's yourself and hubby and the lads?

We're all fine, thank you. I recently took on the editors' t-shirt challenge and wrote an entry about The VW Karmann Ghia which was on the Front Page last Tuesday. That was the day my eldest son passed his driving test. And the T-Shirt arrived today, together with a lovely h2g2 mouse mat and two h2g2 button badges.
I had C drive me to the supermarket today - it was the first time he drove our car, and without having a driving teacher next to him. he did it all very well.
Hope you'll have a good weekend.

Congratulations
Never forget my driving test. It snowed halfway through. I thought I'd failed. He asked me loads of questions on the highway code. An uncle, a driving examiner, later explained that they do that to make sure. If you only get three questions, then you have failed on the driving side and they are trying to let you down gently, by letting you get good marks on the code side. If they ask you loads of questions then you have passed the drving side and they are just making sure before they pass you. God was I nervous.
Weekend just OK. We collected a fridge freezer from a friend who was getting rid of it. Almost brand new. We put it in the garage, as an overflow fridge and freezer. We put some veg and stuff like that in it.
Very wet ansd rainy here today. Very chilly too.
The play has been typed up and I've e mailed him the draft. Just hoping he doesn't want to change anything...again. All this fiddling about with it will never get it sent off. Never co-write anything with an arty farty person. Quotes from Philip Larkin have no place in this place.

No luck, when ever I try to log on Kew Gardens site I get page cannot be displayed.
Still, I'm sure something will come up.
I am due to be installed in the chair of my lodge as master on 5th April, the day before Good Friday. Some friends are coming to visit for it. A friend should be in Spain at a lodge there, but has cancelled it. Another is coming up from Chichester. Another is coming from St Albans. Looking excitedly to it. Panicking too, having to try and remember all those lines.

that'll be a great day for you.
with it all, and I'm sure you'll make it just fine.
Btw, a few of us (lil, her hubby, her daughter VC and her hubby, MMF, Icy and me) will meet on Friday evening (27th), for a meal and a pint. So if that's more convenient, why not join us on Friday? You won't get a chance of meeting lil on Saturday afternoon, as she'll not be going to Kew gardens.

In a pub in London somewhere. It's not decided upon yet, one suggestion is the Marlborough Head, near Marble Arch, apparently a Gothic-themed pub.

Gothic?
Good Lord!
I've got to arrive wearing black gear with metal ear-rings and black eye shadow and studs through my nose and ears?
I don't think so, do you?

Nawww, it's the interior that's Gothic, not the drinkers It's said to have a mediaeval Gothic bar downstairs.

Friday 27th would be perfect for me. You would have to let me have full details. Perhps you should contact Lil and co first to ask their permission for me to join them.

Hello Tony
Hope you and Coll are well.
Looks as if we'll be heading for Chinatown on Friday 27th, as it seems more convenient for getting some decent food. Glad you'll re-arrange your plans for the evening.
Have a good day.
