Hi there MM, and thank you for taking on a project of such historic, I mean caloric, dimensions! smiley - biggrin

So far, it is looking just fine, with a couple of questions.
1: Is their art in the offing, or just if it reaches the front page?
2: Could we make some of the text a hanging indent format, to make it easier to read? Something like this, perhaps:

8 oz. of self raising flour
smiley - space-- If you are not using self-raising flour,
smiley - spacesmiley - spaceadd 1 tablespoon baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon of salt
6 oz. of shredded or finely chopped, rendered suet
smiley - space-- To render, cook suet over a moderately low heat, for about 20 minutes,
smiley - spacesmiley - spaceuntil it is melted and clear and cracklings are golden.
smiley - spacesmiley - spaceRun it through a sieve into a bowl, and cool.
Chill until it is firm and white.
smiley - space-- Covered and chilled, it will keep for a week
0 to 6 oz of white-bread breadcrumbs (one of the many variables)
4 oz of sugar: caster, extra-fine, superfine, or 10x
4 oz to 6 oz combined sultanas (big raisins), regular raisins, or currants
smiley - spacesmiley - space(other dried fruits can be substituted according to taste and/or allergies)
1 lemon rind, grated or zested
5 to 10 tablespoons of milk or water - normally about 10 tbsp milk for a recipe this size.
Combine the flour, sugar, (baking powder, and salt) in a mixing bowl or food processor.
Add the shredded suet until the mixture resembles coarse-ground meal.
Add the bread crumbs, dried fruits, and grated or zested lemon, and stir.
In a bowl (not the food processor), drizzle in the milk and stir with a fork until incorporated.
Knead until a slightly sticky dough is formed.
Roll the dough into a cylinder (it should still be slightly sticky).
Wrap in a single layer of foil, brushed with butter (or a double thickness of grease proof paper), and seal.
smiley - spacesmiley - spaceAn alternate version calls for wrapping the dough in cheesecloth.
Traditionally, the dough should be steamed for 1.5 - 2.0 hours,
smiley - spacesmiley - spacebut the cheesecloth version is boiled in water for about the same period.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts!smiley - oksmiley - stout

sorry for the late-ish reply. That thing called 'a job' got in the way...

I am not sure whether you like the formatting now. The idea is to keep a whole sentence together and not break it up because different skins will have a slightly different look. Let me know. If not, I'll work on that a little bit more.

Art for an article only gets done if it is the main article of the day. The editors decide that so it is pretty much in their hands.

thanks.

Not a problem, MiniMy!

I think it's looking much better with the indenting. Thank you.smiley - ok

Hope the job thing gives you occasion to enjoy yourself a bit. I'm in the middle of a job search; and so, have more time than I really want. Trouble is, I seem to spend more time looking for one, than actually doing it!smiley - doh

I'll look forward to it's final posting, and will leave the 'front page' thing to the powers that be.

Thanks again for taking it on!
