Morning each! (Clipboard people are running late, so I've got an hour to play as such!)
Glad to hear you're up and about (ish) Smurfles... I hesitate to say it must have given the neighbours endless moments of gigglement, because if they were any half decent class of neighbours they'd have rushed to your assistence before you got past the 2nd rev!!
(Thank god for sticking out bits, eh?)
The question poses itself is.. why don't they make nice, bendy accomodating rails in the first place!

Hi Shhh,i think i should have had to take lessons
I don't think i'd have passed a test though. It's probably a good thing i don't use it anywhere except in the garden,I certainly aren't safe to be on the loose!!

No...
As I wrote it, I was referring to the rail Smurfles got wedged under, not her handlebars.
(Ooops! I'll rephrase that... her wheelchair/scotter-y handlebars)
Have I confused things here?

It is a bendy type of rail.but it's wood.It was put up late last year, when i had the garden landscaped for a pressie for hubby, and was only "temporary"(that usually means around two years in this house),until we got a fancy rail to go up in it's place!!!It is three posts, with a flat piece of wood right across the top, giving me access to the greenhouse.......wow,what if i'd gone the other way......one demolished greenhouse!not even gonna go there.

No prob - I thought it was me being inaccurate as usual!
Thats the trouble with these forums - no way of being able to wave yer arms about and point. It all has to be precise words!
Whats the weather doing up your way Smurfles? D'you reckon you could be let loose in the garden again? Is it a particually BIG garden - and if so, how d'you manage to keep it under cntrol?
I had to give up my allotment a couple of years ago - I just couldn't manage the damn thing. I don't particually LIKE gardening... but I did like the fresh veg/herbs, etc I managed not to kill

Hells teeth - lets not even THINK about the greenhouse scenario (shudder)
We simulposted, btw. If you've recently had your garden landscaped, then I'd imagine it's been designed with wheelchair user in mind?

I just hae to look at the 6foot fence paels ,and i can tell you how long the garden is ev!!!It's 36 foot long, and slightly under 36foot wide!!!Last year we were going on holiday in september,so i arranged to have it turfed, with flags down one side for the wheelchair/scooter,and the greenhouse and veggie garden are on that side, and then a lawn ,with the pond in it .We didnt go on holiday ,as that was when mum was ill,so it wasn't a surprise for hubby at all.I think the edge of the wheel must have got caught on the edge of the flags, and it had been raining all day,so the grass was slippery.I won't be planting anythng else for a whle!!

Ooooooh Smurfles - Herbs is ME - I "do" herbs - lots of - what have you got???
Belly Good
smurfles Posted Jun 16, 2005
hi Shhhh,i don't have "lots" it's the first time weve ventured into herbs really. We have parsley, lemon thyme, rosemary, mint(which doesn't seem happy at the mo)
In the raised bit that we had done with sleepers,we now have(all thriving) lettuce, cucumbers, spring onions, carrots, beetroot, brussell sprouts,AND,.The tomatoes are in the greenhouse, and we have tumbling tomatoes in hanging baskets, and peppers in the greenhouse too!!!!

Sounds good Smufles - the mint will thrive whever you put it - but sometimes takes it's time to get going - trouble is once it is "going" it's unstoppable
One I really like is Lemon Balm - mint like but with that lemony tang to it - great with Pork in stuffings etc.
Have you ever tried savoury pudding?

PS If you plant the mint in a bottomless bucket dug into the eath Smurfles, it'd control the root spread quite sucsessfully.... I never found mint hard to get going... but then I also found it pretty easy to kill, too.
Overwatering generally...
The only one I can do with any sucsess is the most difficult one.
Basil!

Good morning all from me too,i just got up,in front of me,so should be functioning in about two hours!!!
the bucket sounds a good idea ev,i'll remedy the situation over the weekend sometime.
No doubt we'll be visiting the garden centre ,so i'll look out for the lemon stuff Shhhh, and for the chivesT K.
We grew a fair lot from seed this time,so it's been fun waiting to see what came through.
