Hallo, I'm here now...(got sidetracked with visitors and an urn of coffee.....) but everyone else seems to be over on the Belly Good thread... quite appropriately, since we're talking about food!

Don't you have a canteen? Doesn't your work feed you?
Tho I must admit, a cardboard sarnie doesn't have the same appeal as... oh... I dunno... I fancy some salmon, prawns, goat cheese and loads of salad... plenty lemon juice and balsamic and a nice long glass of something crisp.
I'll potter off in a bit and do myself a round of beans on toast! I've got this weeks shop in, and I didn't buy salmon trimmings, etc, in with this batch. I'll have to get some next week - they're not very expensive.....

Yes we've got a canteen - mostly populated by hairy sergeants and awful food
I'm looking for something more substantial now though after all this food talk

Tell the hairy sergeant if she got her mustache waxed she'd be beautiful, really!
In the meantime.... TWO bacon butties, perhaps?
One for each hand

Go brave the horrors of the hairy sergeants... and if there's a spare one, save him for me!
Go get fed man and stop torturing yourself. I've had my beans on toast.... very mediocre they were, too!

Ewww I dislike beans - what happened to the salady bits?
By the time you are reading this again...............

I fed them to yesterday's dinner guests - and I amn't going food shoppig till next week - as the week progresses, dinners get more and more disgustingly boring. Thats what living on a strict budget DOES to you after a time... as I imagine you're discovering. From today its "eat the cupboard/and/or freezer contents."
We start off with "fresh" stuff next Tuesday again.
You don't think *I* like beans, much, either, do you?
But they're reasenably nuitritious.
How else did you think I can afford to get out on occasions?

Fair enough - but you could go down to the front and sling a hook on the end of a pole out eh!that way the omly person you're spending money is you and the hardware shop - well ok - upsetting Findus a bit too prolly!

PHerrrrr---yuk!
(You may take that as a "No Thanks")
I HATE fishing... I absolutely loathe flappy flippy fish... I'd throw up if I had to gut one (and yes, I have tried... had nightmares for WEEKS afterwards, just couldn't hack it). If, as you already know,I don't like FLAPPING birds, would it be a reasenable extension of imagination to realise... I don't like flapping ANYTHINGS? Like fish? And they DO flap - I had a carrier bag of the ba*****ds flap accross the flag floors at the first cottage in Eire - I had total hysterics and hid in the turf shed for the night.
and.....
Would you REALLY want to eat anything that came out of the Thames Estuary?
Cos I wouldn't......
I think I'll stick to the beans if its all the same to you, thanks!

People do eat stuff like that you know - flappy or not - and I hate to think of what "Fish Finers" consists of.
I actualy came across a "loin of Cod" in a shop the other day - I thought that was a physical impossibility!!!

Moving On Posted Jun 17, 2005
Really?
Loin of Cod?
Good Grief!
I'll have to get me anatomy charts out and look for one of them!
I'm not saying peole SHOULDN'T eat fish S'hhh (even the ones who order loin of cod!)
That HAS amused me... and I can feel a poem coming on, so if I disappear, you'll know thats what I'm doing
All I am saying is.... I'm not a fish eater.
I hate the damned things... I hate the texture, I hate the flapping, and I especially hate the way they LOOK at you just before you decapitate the bloody things -
(apart from a bit of salmon occasionally, prawns... and tuna doesn't count as fish because it comes out of a tin, far as I'm concerned!)
Here endeth the rant!
PS
I won't *do* fish fingers! I never, ever did.... Poor I may be, but I respect my kids innards too much to even consider th possibility of feeding them crap like THAT! If there's ever fishdigits in the freezer its because they bought them for themselves!
