Knights Of The Old Republic- It's a roleplay in which you go from padawan learner to full Jedi master; loads to do, lasts for ages, never dull- not just fighting ! you design everything from your weapon to your character's face !

I will broach the subject with the little dears... thanks! Thats more the sort of thing they're into... especially designing The Outfits and Faces
And how are you this bright sunny day?

Helghast Posted Jun 23, 2005
Greetings,
If you will permit me an interjection here, Knights of The Old Republic II is actually available at the moment and is slightly improved over the original.
Do steer clear of Freedom Fighters. It's very much a Playstation 2 game and as such lacks the graphics and gameplay that the Xbox can offer. It's now sadly dated, and was never that good to begin with, being trite and formulaic.

Hallo, a newbie....
Welcome Helghast, and thanks for the info; I'll bear it in mind.
I don't really mind WHAT they get, just as long as I don't have to listen to Gregorian Chants from Halo for much longer and the constant screams of Fatality from the current fighting game they've borrowed.
Both are dreiving me nuts!
(And the kids arn't doing me any favours squabbling about who's shot who, either)

Have you considered the delights of The Sims or The Urbz for them?
Less killing (unless you really, really look into it) and slightly less noisy.
Do the little dears play online at all? That can often swing the vote...
Thanks for the welcome. It really is very kind of you.

Greetings, Jill ! Been busy, but back. If you need gaming advice, we can tackle the ideas on MSM or the phone- otherwise there is a danger of of our conversation point becoming a games forum ! How are you feeling today; well, I trust, little one ?
ALONE AT LAST....
Moving On Posted Jun 27, 2005
Hiya handsome - wondered when you'd be back!
I'll have a try at setting up the MSN - although as I've got Broardband (FINALLY plucked up the nerve to get it going) which is due to be plumbed in on 4th July, I'm not all that confident that the PC won't do its usual trick of crashing
It usually does when I do any form of upgrading... it's just this gift I have
How goes the dragon slaying biz?

Moving On Posted Jun 27, 2005
Ah well, guess it pays the rent/mortgage, etc if nothing else....
Have I mentioned my latest exploit into getting The Back moving?
Out of action with the swimming - RSI with the bloody polystyrine dumbells would you believe! - I oughtn't be let out, really!
Have you kippered your last dragon or is it this the same one as before? Update perlees!
Oh yes - and I rather think I've banjaxed that cowboy of a workerman good and proper. I might even be able to get Son no 1's wages eventually, as well!
I don't often growl but gawd help anyone who buggers my kids about.....even if the little dear IS 18 inna couple of weeks

Helghast Posted Jun 28, 2005
Hi Folks.
Though it was not my intention to steer the conversation in the direction indicated thus: "otherwise there is a danger of of our conversation point becoming a games forum !" I can see how it could be taken as that by some.
Apologies if I seemingly overstepped the mark with my recommendations to what I saw as duff advice for gaming. Gaming and computers number amongst my many passions.
I'm fairly new to these forums and there appear to be very few topics that cannot be discussed. Having said that...
Thanks for the steer, Alpha Male. Much appreciated.
This dragon slaying sounds fascinating, btw. Do tell...

What d'ya MEAN where have *I* gone to?
I's been here, quietly vegitating and nursing myself back to normality I has(Whatever normality might mean...)Gotten used to the new pain thresholds and am getting on with stuff....
Son No 1 hit 18 last Saturday, and I took him for his first legal pint, he had his first job and was let go after his trial period, which was a wonderful way for him to start his majority... and... just general stuff, really. Accupucture, mainly - working a treat. Expensive, though.
Went to see Batman Begins during the week - may go and see War of the Worlds this evening.. and pencil marked Fantastic Four, too. Sad really, but there you are. I like a good bit of hokum, metaphorically speaking, of course....
And you? How was this affair with State?
... and more to the point, what sort of state are you in!
Good to see you back
Probably off to the beach tomorrow, and if the tides in may go sea swimmng - if I go early I can miss the ruddy DFLs (Down from Londons) and have a bit of shingle to myself instead of sharing it with a load of cockney lobsters!
COCKNEY LOBSTERS ? DO WHAT ?
ALPHA-MALE Posted Jul 17, 2005
Heared great things about War of the Worlds, not so good about FF, though... The Fanny Four have been slated in all quarters ! Hooe you enjoy shingling today
COCKNEY LOBSTERS -burn easilly
Moving On Posted Jul 17, 2005
Slated or or I'm still going to go because I'm a sad soul!
No shingling today - just after I'd replied last night my friend Jan called from London and arrived impromptu - so far we've quaffed a bottle of quaffable stuff, slept it off, done a boot fair and are just off to the local wildlife park to try and find an otter to throw things at (I jest, I jest, otters are nice, honestly!)
Just out of interest... how come you're here on a Sunday? Don't you get days off any more?
COCKNEY LOBSTERS - boil, you buggers !
ALPHA-MALE Posted Jul 17, 2005
Can't beat a good quaff ! Gotta work when they ask you to in this bizniz- sundees included, I'm afraid...
How are you, Hot Stuff ?
COCKNEY LOBSTERS - pass the aloe, Vera. !
Helghast Posted Jul 17, 2005
Did you get to see the Fantastic Four yet? It's actually a good film. I was pleasantly surprised. I can see why it did so well at the US Box Office. I've not actually heard anyone of note bad mouthing it yet.
Good action, great effects and it stays fairly true to the comic.
I even like Julian McMahon in it.
And Stan Lee!!
COCKNEY LOBSTERS - pass the aloe, Vera. !
Helghast Posted Jul 17, 2005
Hello again, by the way Alpha Male.
Good to see you back.
What's this dragon slaying you mention? What line of work are you in?

Moving On Posted Jul 19, 2005
Cheese grater?
Sandpaper?
You know some strange people, mister!
Some of us (preen icon) don't peel, merely toast nicely and uniformly , but if you think you can rub my shoulders better then you'll be hired out of sheer hedonism together with a strong desire to be pain free. Pah! So much for damned operations and accupuncture, eh?
Sicarius Darcorum, eh?
Who's been eating Latin for Beginners for supper, then?
