Greetings from my corner of the universe
Hello all!
I'm very excited to have found this site. I just discovered--or I should say re-discovered-- Douglas Adams' work via my local library, which provided the audio tapes of Salmon of Doubt. (I had read much of the Hitchhikers' series when I was 10 or 11 years old.)
After listening and feeling overwhelmed with awe and sadness, I decided to check whether h2g2.com still existed. I read the introductory material and thought that this site would be a fitting tribute to the writer who I had come to admire two years too late, as well as a nice way to expand the reach of my own voice. (I am very much into psychological visibility, especially as my sense of self-esteem grows :-D)
About me
I am an aspiring writer living in Southern California, where I currently am studying to get my Masters in Professional Writing (a fancy name for creative writing.) I'm in the process of submitting my very first ready-for-publication short story, in addition to which I am writing two screenplays and a novel. I am paying my way through school by teaching freshman writing.
Besides writing, I am into Internet posting (obviously), self-esteem psychology, and philosophical discussion. I'm also a big fan of www.snopes.com which is dedicated to debunking urban legends--I can often be found on the message boards over there. I'm also developing an addiction to Yahoo! Graffiti (a Pictionary-like game).
