Recovering at last

Last weekend suffered from the most horrible viral infection - eruptions from every orifice and a temperature of 104... luckily the fever broke after a day... but it left me feeling completely washed out for three or four days.

Luckily, I got well in time for my big-40 birthday bash. Had a little too much to drink, but I think the illness left me immune to alcohol - I watched the video we took at the party last night and there's no difference in me from start to finish... horrible!

One good thing about being so ill... I didn't have to do the horrible transcontinental commute last week...

One bad thing about getting better - I'm writing this after the too-long plane ride to california!

Looking forward to finishing with this project. Getting bored of this commute. Been in california long enough! Right now, even Texas looks good!!!!

One week in and counting

Well

Here we are at the end of a long and tiring week... Commuting to california sounds really cool and exciting, until you realize for the umpteenth time that it's friday morning, you just got home really late last night, you have chores up the wazoo, and you'll be leaving home around 3 on Sunday to do the whole thing again.... Thank Bob there's only a few more weeks to go... then I can get onto a new project closer to home -- just not 'local'.
-- which anyone who works on the road, knows, is death before life....

OK... Gotta go. time to go get my wife, act as her chauffeur (her van is in the shop), pick up dinner, go round to our friends, pick up child, eat dinner, return home, sleep, goto home-store, pick up parts for broken sprinkler system, fix sprinkler system, program sprinkler system, finish mulching trees (2 cubic yards to go... yeaah), sleep, get out power washer, wash windows, pack for trip, drive to aiport... WORK WORK WORK>..... repeat, ad infinitum.

Think I'll stop now - time to take medication (if only I had some)
