RIP Lynx Cat (dq)
Posted Nov 28, 2012
It’s sad to leave the Vet’s office with an empty carrier.
It’s sad to empty food bowls and take away the food mat from the cats’ corner in the kitchen.
It’s sad to remove blankets from favourite spots in windows and shelves.
My wonderful, beautiful fluffy ginger cat ain’t no more. He was a fairly young cat, just 5 and a half years old. The last few weeks there were repeated episodes of unwellness and trips to the vet’s. The last day’s he rapidly detoriated and nothing more was to be done in order to give him a decent life. I had to take the final decision and he died peacefully in my arms. I’ve shed lots of tears and there are more to come.
RIP Lynx (2007 -2012). I miss you so much.

On odd legal requirements (dq)
Posted May 19, 2012
Currently pissed off at Land Registration Authority.
Many years ago, before I married, I inherited a very small lot, large enough for a tiny cottage, from my Grandfather. I never built any house and I let the neighbour keep their sheep there during summers. Recently I sold it to the neighbour's caretaker for a symbolic sum of money.
Yesterday I got a letter from LRA stating the deal wasn't going to be finalised since I don't have the permission from my ex-husband to sell it. WTF???
It's been almost a decade since the divorce was legal, the lot was mine before I married and was the only somewhat valuable thing from my Father's family the ex didn't manage to get hold of. I haven't seen or heard from him since, and I don't even know where he lives - nor do I have any need to know.
So far every attempt to get in contact with the LRA has failed. I have no ambition to beg for permission from the ex.

Ever since the latest MRIscan just before Easter I've had spitting The magnetic valve inserted into my skull went bonkers after being subjected to the strong magnetic fields generated by the MRI scanner. During the last month I've seen the neuro surgeons repeteadly and they've been fiddling with the magnetic valve in order to get it work again, since they're not keen drilling new holes in my head.
Anyway, now the thingamajig is back in order, and it seems as instead of having excess fluids in the central nervous system, I now have too little . While waiting for the neurologist to see me, I started to cut back on the fluid reducing pills I've been taking for the last decade in high, or very high, doses. Took away one in the morning, and got less .
However, some days ago I simply forgot to take the evening pills, and the next day I didn't wake up with , and it was à rather OK day. So now I skipped the evening pills, i.e. cut down 75% of the pills just like that.
Guess I just have to wait and see where this takes me. All previous attempts to get off those pills have failed.

The noble art of updating (dq)
Posted Mar 11, 2012
My sadly neglected PS has been exactly the same since July 2009. Since then I've made numerous attempts to update but all have failed.
There was an Offensive Word.
Of course I was never able to figure out what it was, in spite of changing this, that and the most time after another. This evening I have been emailing the gurus, and after deleting and then reinstalling the Thingite Roster my PS is not offensive anymore.
I had good help of Lynx and Leopardess. They took turns sleeping on the keyboard and sitting in front of the screen. Saving in always good when you are working with something, especially when there are Helpers around. I didn't...
I think it's somewhat OK now. New and updated cat photo linked showing current Lair Cats inserted.
I even made a new Thingite Calendar. Not as fancy as Happy Nerd's, but still it's a calendar if only basic.
Might do a more serious overhaul someday. This will have to do in the meantime.
