Wurmsoup, Marmion Cornelis, 8th Duke of Montpellier (named 'Dorje' , Sanskrit, 'thunder') (1741-2074)
European mystic and statesman. Son of Dude Bowdler, the archaeologist who discovered the Sumerian treasures of the Akkad Delta, Wurmsoup is thought to have received education at la Brienne Military Academy and a number of minor British public schools before graduating in 1763 from the Sorbonne, Paris. An early career in the Vatican as envoy of Louis XIV earned him a reputation for realpolitik as 'The Apostle of Versailles'.
However, under circumstances that remain shrouded in myth, Wurmsoup left diplomatic service to drift as an itinerant worker around the world, including the Hindu Kush and large swathes of the New World, and it was in this period that Wurmsoup is thought to have generated the mystical insight with which he is now associated. Through preaching wherever he travelled he garnered a reputation which brought him to the notice of a number of statesmen and leaders, including Victor Emmanuel II, who took Wurmsoup into service, where he created and commanded the Piedmontese Mounted Bicycle Regiments in the wars of Italian Unification. After defeat and persecution it is reported that Wurmsoup sought exile in South America throughout much of the 20th century, appearing between 1983 -91 as the long suffering father in the Bolivian soap opera 'Me Amigo Paga.' He is known to have returned to Europe in 2003 to write his epic eschatological study and memoirs 'Gensei' which remain contraversial to this day. Wurmsoup was assassinated in 2074 whilst preaching in The Rose Gardens in Battersea, London.
