Learning curve

Being fairly new to computers and the net I have been spending most of my time going in little circles trying to do even the simplest of things and spending far too much time in front of the screen. With that in mind if anyone spots this and wants to take pity on me Im not proud I'll gratefully accept any help or advice offered. Despite my failings I do feel slightly proud that three years into what we call the 21st century I am trying to catch up with the advances made in the 20th.
