Well, since you asked, New York was fabulous. But, may I ask, how did you know to ask?
Perhaps you used your intuition? You girl-types are all the same. Always showing off with your fancy "mind reading" and "color coordination".
By the way, did I mention New York was fabulous? At least while I was there. Perhaps it is now a total wreck now that I have returned home? My head swells just thinking about my own greatness.

So, why did you visit New York? I can't say I've ever been there... well, not the city anyway. Hmm... no that isn't exactly correct. I have never been on the ground, anywhere except the airport, in New York City. I think that is at least reasonably accurate. Ahem... anyway.
Can I assume you actually enjoyed your trip? Usually rave reviews like that involve some sort of love interest or career boosting job interview. So, do tell... give us the scoop and all.

I really want to tell you about New York. But, I'm going to leave you hanging once more, because with all the catch-up from a week-long trip, I'm burning the candle at both ends and just can't do it justice.
I promise, I will tell you all about it. As long as you keep asking, that is.
For now, I will just leave you with this thought...
*throws hands in air and runs away going blblblblblblblblbl*
THREE PAGES!
mikeypie Posted Apr 12, 2003
One more second... We made it to three pages of inane banter! Yay!
That must be some kind of milestone.
*runs away again*
THREE PAGES!
PenGwen: Benevolent Tyrant of Hebetude and Vivacity, Keeper of the Wonder Book of Useless Knowledge Posted Apr 14, 2003
blah blah blah blah blah. I can't believe you told me to ask you about it, I did, and now you wont tell me. *sigh* And they say WOMEN are bad!
Now tell me about New York! uh... please?

THREE PAGES!
mikeypie Posted Apr 16, 2003
You're just reading things into this.
I'll ease the tension a bit and just say it wasn't love or work, but I can see how you might have arrived at that. I just had a great time. Motts of fun! Wheee. That kind of thing. Want to tell you about it, but busy, busy, busy!
Yo! Ay!
The story so far...
mikeypie Posted Apr 28, 2003
Well, I finally got logged back into H2G2.
Now, let me tell you all about New York:
1. Cab drivers there drive crazy, but are mostly friendly.
2. The subway is the best way to get around, and it shames me how well a hundred-year-old system works there, and L.A. doesn't even have a system to get close. I didn't need a car at all for an entire week. The longest it took to go anywhere by walking to the subway was less time than it took me to drive to the DMV on my first day back.
3. The food in Little Italy is not as good as it should be, but the charm is quite good.
4. You can buy a roll and a coffee for $1, fifty cents just for the coffee. Anything else will cost you twenty bucks to start. I think the cost of living there must be higher than anywhere else in the States.
5. Things are really much safer in Manhattan than they are made out to be by the media.
6. As expensive as it was, and as cold as it was (it snowed while I was there), I want to go back.
As for my reason for going, my girlfriend decided to go there for her Master's graduation ceremony (she had several locations to choose from.) I never really though much about New York, and so the place really pleasantly surprised me. I think that it may have just been the visitor's perspective, but it seemed like a very interesting place. Worth a second look.
Sorry to leave you hanging on the details, it really wasn't on-purpose. Hope you're well!
Your health and welfare

I am wonderful! Thanks!
In case you didn't see my other post, I'll restate here...
I made an unexpected trip to FL, to pick up my new convertible. Oh happy day! I've wanted an old MG for a long time, and have one now. He is awesome (though not exactly a "road trip" vehicle). Anyway, I'm back now!
Oh, and thanks for posting about NY! 'bout time

Yay! Glad you're ok! Covertible MG should be pretty fun. And the weather is getting just-right-ish for having the top down! What year is the old boy? Details! Details I say! (A bit ironic, coming from me, though.)

Details, eh? Of course, a guy would want car details. Well, okay, you twisted my arm.
Nigel (his new name) was born in 1979. He is British Racing Green, with gold stripes, tan interior and a black soft top. His interior is a gold/tan color, and in very good shape. He has fewer than 50,000 original miles, which means he isn't hammered, and his paint is pretty good too. He is really quite dashing, an is enjoying his new home where he gets lots of TLC.

mikeypie Posted May 17, 2003
Well, put Nigel in third and hit the throttle for me. Let me know if it's as fun to do as I think it would be.
Busily Yours,

Hmmmm... is driving Nigel as much fun as you think it is? Well, if you think it would be a lot of fun, then yes, it is as much fun as you think. I guess I could take you out for a ride sometime. Where do ya live? I'll pick you up at eight.

We were doing good, but we got over it
PenGwen: Benevolent Tyrant of Hebetude and Vivacity, Keeper of the Wonder Book of Useless Knowledge Posted May 17, 2003
I just thought I would put up another post, since we are failing to meet our original quota. Okay, it wasn't really a quota, but how are we ever going to make it, to four pages, if one of us doesn't post a bunch of gibberish soon?!?
~PG~
P.S.

Out showing off?
mikeypie Posted Jun 7, 2003
I bet you've been out all week driving around with the top down on your shiny set of wheels, and showing of that fancy "wonder book" of yours, eh? Well, see if I care that I wasn't invited. See if it bothers me. See if I don't eventually get tired of talking to myself and go download ICQ just to harass you about your fancy book and your fancy car. Huh. See if I don't.
blblblblblblbllbl.
Out showing off?
PenGwen: Benevolent Tyrant of Hebetude and Vivacity, Keeper of the Wonder Book of Useless Knowledge Posted Jun 8, 2003
I would have invited you, but work work work. Isn't that what you told me? Yeah, who was too busy?
And alas, poor Nigel (the car) has been in the drive. He has electrical problems. So, go ahead, taunt me on ICQ... I dare you!

Nigel Mansel?
mikeypie Posted Jun 30, 2003
Just a quick hello. Hope you're well! All the sun we've been having here is distracting me from visiting H2G2. Be patient with me and I will eventually get ICQ installed.

I'm back!
PenGwen: Benevolent Tyrant of Hebetude and Vivacity, Keeper of the Wonder Book of Useless Knowledge Posted Aug 4, 2003
I'm back! I know, took me long enough to finally respond. You've probably forgotten all about me by now. Wake up!

I'm back!

Wha?! *blinks winkies from eyes*
Who? Huh?
Looking at the clock, it's 1:27AM. Think I'll leave it at a quick, "Hi!" (Hi!) and go beddy.
I'm not online as regular-like as I was. That whole "real life" thing keeps cropping up. Hope you're doing well and let's catch each other up. But first, I'm off to bed! TTFN!
Nite-nite.
