Or have a been conned ,along with loads more people!!I need a rant,so just ignore me ,while i get this off my chest!!!
As most people who were telewest/ntl customers ,virgin media can't come to an agreement with sky.so the customers have lost two channels.I personally didn't watch a lot of the sky one programmes,but enjoyed cold case and bones,and similar ones!!
Anyhow...after the television going off intermittently yesterday,and not being able to access the internet,i rung them.

I complained thet the programmes they have on virgin central are not programmes that we watched in this house,so their "wonderful"channel was no good to me,and that all customers should receive a rebate as we're missing two channels!!!
I was amazed when the person i spoke to said that seen as the prices had been changed ,leaving my payments the same would compensate for losing the two !!!!
They know that we don't have much choice but to accept what ever they do to us....i'm fed up of virgin already!!!

this morning a card came with the post from sky, they say that media took off lost, (sky one) as we know thats rubbish, it went off at midnight, and sky pulled the plug.

as long as they dont screw the emails, and the migic works ive plenty of channels to watch that suit me, 190. zone horror and others. i gave up on sky one when the simpsons, stargate, stargate atlntis, and startrek was on all the time. even a new programme was short lived on sky.

i thik i read on the internet virgin or telewest, that virgin was going to show the lost on a teleport or even the 119/120 after the upgrade was inplace.

I don't watch lost jim,i used to,but missed a few and never got back in to it!!
This is exactly what i told them...the programmes they're showing on 119 aren't the ones i want to watch!!!
Virgin and sky are like big babies,it's like watching a playground fight !!!And they didn't inform us that they were putting the prices up,which is what i was told yesterday,although we won't pay an increase becasue we lost two channels.....rubbish!!!

Get a freeview box - they get Sky 3 which shows cold case, and I think I've seen something called Bones on there. Won't be the most uptodate shows of course, but eventually they'll catch up.

I missed Sky One when it went from digital tv, but soon got used to not having it around.

We looked in to the possibility of a freeview box,but were told that unless we had good reception it wouldn't be much good,and ours is quite poor here!I suppose we could make more enquiries.....i'll let you know how we get on..

I'm with Virgin too and got a letter round from them last week offering digital tv for free to make up for losing the Sky channels

I gave them a ring and ended up with a package, which includes digital tv, which is actually £7 a month cheaper than I'm paying now

I did check that it wasn't one of those cheap introductory offers that goes up after 3 months or something, but they assured me that it was a permanent price ( well, as permanent as any of them are I guess) and that they'd been inundated with people taking the offer up.

Dunno if it'd be worth you giving them another ring to see if you can get the same deal?

We only get Sky Three, and believe me, there's not much on it. It mostly seems to be the old fag ends of everything else!

Forgot to mention most channels repeats and that Teleport TV is supose to be free for 3months i've had a look and it's rubbish!
So does that mean Teleport reply is to be chargable too??

Digital TV what crock, should leave it all alone with our five normal channels Terestal. So i've a telly wide screen and has 99 channels, so whats the point in making them if your using scart leads eg EXT1 EXT2 EXT3 and EXT4 cable is the biggest con around.

When Mr Branson gets his feet under the table he'll shoot up the price of all cable programs first it'll be cheap as chips, it's because he's to greedy and SKY too.

Sky are pulling there channels off Freeview in the summer too, so it would be a waste to get Freeview just for the channels you're missing.

In the meantime, you could have a look at http://www.tv-links.co.uk/ and see if there's anything there you're missing. Not the best of solutions, but hey...

Yea! we are with Virgin Media for all 3 services! and we had to call them up just to get "catch-up" TV working, as we were not getting into it?

I must admit though, their Internet service is second to none, and very reliable

The phone package we got for £25 a month, means that MK2 can be on the phone all the time, and the calls are free, no matter how many she makes

We dropped down a package the last time the prices went up, and we really miss the History & National Geographic channels

i rang the 150 this morning to see whats happening, the lady said that as far as they had been told the lost programme was to be shown on the 119 or 120 later.

i am also on with the magic link as we say.i have been with tw from the start though every change from losing the ld games, to the present day.a few days after ld went a friend sent me the first link( the crude one) and ive been on h2g2 since.

all we can hope is that in the future virgin isnt going to shaft us with a new modern update or the html that gets the digi on here will be no more.

dont know if its true, but im hearing on the grapevine, that if there is a series 4 of lost, the virgin are to outbid sky, and the series 3, will be available on either 119/120 later.

and that in the next month we are to get a pricedrop, if the sky channels arnt back. but reading between the lines, i think virgin as decided to cripple sky.just my obseration jim

I'm getting rather fed up of hearing/reading about TW/NTL/Virgin and there programs do with SKY.

As someone pointed out U190885 I get the best deal of all, YES I NO longer pay for cable Digital TV, as I now get size M cost £0.00 cable still rubbish!
I also don't pay the £5.00 fee as I also pay by Direct Debit Thank God! Cable such a scam. So why is it taking till summer for FreeView customers not to have SKY??? Oh yes U190880 take alook at my PS you'll find nothing on it I wiped the lot! I'm going now sorry to take up your time reading what i've put... Byeee for Now.

The rollout is taking place in two phases, with certain set-top boxes receiving the code in each phase. Phase A will run from March through to May and will include set-top boxes which we know from experience are less likely to fail on taking the new code. Phase B will run from May to June and will include some of our older set-top boxes that may potentially be more likely to fail. This approach will help us to more effectively manage both the download and any customer calls.

after the 3 months, it will probably go back to the low tv packages having to pay the extra for replay, the xlarge will be free as part of the package, unless virgin change something again.

Hi, I'm another telewest customer. Bored of watching these squabbles between the two, as well as the adverts slagging each other off. Maybe they will grow up soon, but I doubt it.
