Az hows this for a silly ideah {dont try this at home) , smearing the antibotic or crushed pill on the wound area that way when she licks it of she will ingestit then, also some of it will be taken in internaly, or a supositary, your bound to get "the look after that"
jokeing aside see what the vet thinks .

You kiddin' me, Caerwynn - you should see the look she just gave me now when I went 'psst, hey you Lua, stop that right now' as she was licking the wound. What I can't ever figure out is why she listens to me. All I do is make that disapproving 'psst' sound. But before she stops she *does* give me the look. Big time.
Nooooo . . . I don't think giving her a suppository will ever be on my 'to do' list.

Mudhooks: ,,, busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest... Posted Jul 16, 2004
Look what I found in the composter this evening... http://public.fotki.com/Mudhooks/family_friends_pets/what_are_we_compost/100_0068_r1.html
By the way, Google has a free download of Picasa which is a really great photo management software. It will search your hard-drive for images and makes them available really fast and easy. If you have a lot of folders in different locations on your hard-drive, as I do, it is often a matter of opening all my folders in order to find one photo.
Picasa has the various albums listed on the left of the screen visually, rather than in folders as Windows has then. The folder number is listed, and, on the right, are thumbnails of all your photos, each album one after another, in a scrolling screen.
You can upload, download, email, and more all in one application. The only drawback is that I would like to see photo-editing, as well. It has a fairly simple editing application for red-eye and enhancing contrast and crightness, but it is really not enough for me.
I downloaded it 15 minutes ago, and I LOVE it already, despite this.
If you do decide to download it, you may want to close down any other folders, as it takes some time for it to scan your drives for photos.

I don't know as I would call him "cuddly".... "occasionally-chummy-when-he-wants-his-dinner-or-wants-out", perhaps.

That's the trouble with cats, they look so cuddly, but when you pick them to do just that, their tail starts to swish and if you hold on to them any longer you can feel that growl starting down in their tummies .
I have only ever had two cats that loved being cuddled and carried, one even liked to get on my shoulders and drape herself around my neck!
I tried to send Cassie an image of her relaxing and enjoying her cuddle this morning and her tail didn't start swishing immediately so I shall try building on that.

Oddly it's Azar (that scaredy cat!) who adores being picked up, cuddled and otherwise physically mauled by me. He sometimes gets quite insistent that I stop whatever I'm doing and pick him up. Weirdo. He also really enjoys it when I pick him up and walk with him in my arms from one end of the flat to the other. Given that he will let no other human touch him it feels quite special when I feel his whole body relax against me as he enjoys his 'walk'.
When Sunny was younger (and much smaller) he used to race up the front of me and perch on my shoulder and he would happily sit there for ages. Even if I got up to make a cup of tea or go to the bathroom or whatever, he would be very content on his perch. Now that he weighs more than a stone, 7 kilos, 16 pounds, this is no longer an option.
Lua has always been, well, Lua. Picking her up makes her go totally rigid and her legs stick straight out and she starts to make weird threatening alien noises until she gets put down again. Which usually happens very quickly!

Oh, re: the situation, those guys are still flying in and out of my living room with reckless abandon. Maria actually suggested to me yesterday that I give the cats rabies vaccinations. Apparently I can buy the vaccine very cheaply at the 'farmacia' and Maria said she would give the injections to Lua and Sunny - I could then watch and learn so I could give Azar his injection myself.
Doing it this way will cost way less than Maria charging me vet clinic prices. But she said it was a good idea just to be sure, since so many bats are flying in and Azar actually managed to catch that one for a few seconds the other day. I'm still hoping he wasn't bitten!

Azar his injection myself.
Or as i have seen done before inject your own thumb as the cats moved at the last minute so the needle has gone through the scruff.
probhably be off line again from monday, moveing again, and the battery life on this thig is'nt long , mind you happy with the wireless capibilities. And at the moment its free whoppee.
rabies injection is a good idea though, i dont suppose it will be long before british vets need to think about it, mind you az is it comman in the area, are the street cats contracting it as bats i would have thought would be on the menue, must get on before signal strenth goes.

hi logicus,
In fact, I think giving Azar an injection will be easy enough. It's just under the skin, so I'm told, and I have injected Lua this way before. But since Azar doesn't let anyone else but me get closer than three feet it looks like it will have to be me.
You're moving again? Well, good luck with it.

You'd better not, twinkle or no twinkle!
Though I am also going to get a rabies jab myself, I think. Which I don't believe will need to be done on my maximaximus. With the cats Maria said anywhere just under the skin is fine.
Meanwhile, I think I have discovered a nest! Just above my balcony door. There's a hole cut into the brickwork to let a telephone line pass through and this morning I heard it squeaking!

oh Lua, Lua, Lua . . .
She was just lying on the floor in my bedroom and I felt compelled to go over and give her a kiss on the head. She put up with it but then waddled over to sit on the balcony and gave me 'a look'. Not *the* look, just enough of one.
What am I ever going to do without her? I need my cranky cat. My Lua.
The most *horrid* cat ever with the prettiest face ever. She truly does have a very pretty face.
Don't mind me, just a bit of musing about Lua this afternoon . . .
