Just had the weirdest dreams ever. First I was a modern day pirate in a speedboat operating out of an island manshion, then my dad decided to book a weekend in Spain over my exam, but I lost all of my shoes in London. It was strange.

I'm still not sure what happened / is happening. I'll try to summarise, although its not going to be short.

She emails: "I'm back and I'm broke".

I try to phone, can't get through.

I email her asking if there's a new landline number I can call her on, if she's free at the weekend and telling her I'm looking forward to see her again.

She emails "no, sorry".

I email her back to find out why she doesn't seem to want to see me or even talk to me. Last line "I need to know how you feel. I get the impression you haven't been entirely honest with me".

She emails me "that's cuz the truth hurts. I'll try to leave my phone on sometimes and you can call me if you must. I might not hear it ringing though".

I try to call her, can't. Send her another email "What's that supposed to mean? Look, I just want to know why you've been messing me around..."

Haven't had a reply yet. Looking through it like that I might have over reacted. I'm not sure. I guess I'll have to try with the phone again later. At the moment I'm not sure whether she's messing me around or I'm messing myself around or what. Its just the way she phrases everything is so theatrical. Maybe "that's cause the truth hurts" was just something she thought sounded good and I'm taking it all too seriously.

Yeah, its all over. I'm kind of relieved to be honest though. I even agreed to still be friends, kind of weird.

Oh I'm sure it was a bit of both and a lot of unfortunate circumstance. 6 years at an all-boys school leave you without much of an idea of how to women like to be treated I'm afraid, so I guess it was a learning experience, and there were a couple of nice memories I'll take with me.

I can beat 6 yrs at an all boys. Me - 11yr in all girls. yuck. Im too shy of blokes and im convinced everything i do is wrong. How do i know whether what im doing to the bloke is sumat they like coz they never say. They're like girls after and b*tch about a bad lay and stuff. Im not like that, i tell it how it is, but...

I think part of the thing might be the reason that all the continentals say the British are "sexually repressed". A lot of people just don't feel confortable talking about stuff like that for whatever reason.

Being single is a disappointment I guess. To be waiting so long and then finally when someone comes along it just fizzles. I guess it doesn't make much of an actual difference in this case though.

Hmm, 26, its hard to say. Consider people a bit younger than yourself and the ways in which they can seem incredibly annoying/stupid/whatever.

8 years is quite a big age gap, but I guess the thing that actually matters is the maturity gap. You have to judge that for yourself. You do seem quite grown up, but also a little bit vulnerable, and those years in all-girls schools will have an effect too, so bear that in mind and please be a little bit careful whatever you do.
