I know what you're going through. 
My sister, her husband, my dad, my mum, my mother in law all had operations this year. All in October/November. It's a nightmare.

that is how it seems to go, isn't it. I've had similar the last couple of years, but I won't enumerate as this isn't about me right now.
I'm so sorry to hear this, and I hope your mum will be all right. I hope *you* will be all right, too.

Well they're discharging her today. She needs some treatment, but they can do it as an outpatient.
