Fortunately there was One other member, best friend from school, who has been in the live audience on at least three occasions during the run, knew who to call, and texted me who to send it to, and at what room number at BBC TV centre. My back up plan of emailing BBC took longer to get a less specific answer. By the time I'd received it I'd already had the 'flowers despatched' email from Interflora
- chose a summer pink selection including
- as she has made it clear she appreciates chocolate.

Happy Christmas While waiting for A Matter of Loaf and Death with Wallace and Gromit on Christmas Day I thought I'd jot down a few thoughts on MOS matters since I last posted.
As I said I'm still the Secretary, and for this show (Titanic) also the Librarian. I'm also Secretary for the Production committee, taking minutes for that group too, although this year there is considerable overlap with Treasurer/Props, AD/ASM and Vice Chair/Hair&MakeUp, and Advertising/Projections also on both ... why they need me to liaise with exec committee I don't know
Since the AGM the committee member chosen by the committee as Vice Chair (a former Chair herself, and with a wealth of experience) resigned due to artistic differences with the chap who took on advertising (and has been usefully vocal in requesting clarification for how we do things that seem to make no sense to him). As a result we co-opted the person who missed out on being on committee at AGM and chose another of the committee with long experience to be Vice. This meant a change to my letter headers again.
The former Vice didn't drop out of the show as well - I'm glad as it would have meant I was left without my Alice.
We are currently researching our next production (2010), which is not close to a decision yet. I have requested three scores for perusal, and we are considering a couple of others that we have either done before or already have a contract for. I'm a little frustrated as one of my pet shows I put forward last year and was dismissed as ridiculous is just as good as another that made it onto the short list - indeed, having read the perusal material, contains several of the same songs (both are Gershwin musicals). I feel I have just not the selling power to convince the others of the merit of my choice. The one on the short list we have done before (but not when I was on the Island), so possibly got through on familiarity.
Incidentally Sam Barks got the flowers, but as those who watched the final know, didn't become Nancy. She instead has been playing Sally Bowles in a touring production of Cabaret with Wayne Sleep as the Emcee. In a double-edged sword the show is going to make an appearance on the Island - *immediately* before our show, and after the rival's production of Les Mis. Nice for those audience who can afford three good shows within eight weeks, but possibly tricky for us, putting on the least well-known show of the three
Currently in a break before starting rehearsals again in early January.
