Hello Jen, how's your back and muscles?
Spent a nice morning out with a friend I hadn't seen for months, what've you been doing?
New life ?

Hiya Claudia
as i expected i was as stiff as a board this morning!
All i've done today is some housework. I have some ironing to do, but it may not get done today as i don't have the energy
Sounds like a pleasant way to spend a morning

Yes, can't recall the last time I did it, must be years ago
Why did you have to remind me of all the laundry
Oh, the dreaded housework, a neverending story, I'd rather away from it...

hehehe even if you away from it, it will follow you
Its one of those things that never goes away, you just get it sorted and the next lot is waiting in the wings

That's why it is so important to enjoy the small things life offers you
We went to the shopping centre, the air in there is terrible, I never can stay long. Passed by a Douglas shop where they had flip-flops for sale, not even expensive, but very ugly ones, all in pink, with pink fabric flowers .
Went to the bookshop and the first thing I got sight of were: flip-flops, in nice colours, but no price on them.

, pressed the wrong button.
I went to the cashier and asked whether they were for sale or for decoration, and she said that they were neither nor, and that I could just take them
Was a child when I had my last flip-flops, now I'll have to get used to them again - outch

Ooh i like pink actually half my clothes are pink. I either lack imagination or have excellent taste!
Are flip-flops popular in Germany? They are mostly seen in the coastal towns here, for wearing on the beach.
So did you treat yourself to anything nice?
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Apr 1, 2004
They shouldn't have put the flowers, then it would probably have been alright. I grew up at the coast, so we always wore flip-flops,but as I said, I hadn't worn them for years. You can buy all sorts of flip-flops here, not only the rubber ones, but in leather as well, so it does look as if they're popular, but to be honest, I don't have a clue as to what is "in" concerning clothes
I didn't buy anything, was so happy with my flip-flops

I guess i'm a bit of a 'fashion' victim
My weakness is perfume..i love it. I have very expensive taste as far as that is concerned.
I did'nt think there were any beaches in Germany, shows what i know
What sort of food do you eat there? Is it the same as ours?
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Apr 1, 2004
Oh, there is the coast of the the Northern Sea where I come from, and the coast of the Baltic sea, so quite a few beaches
I am not sure about the food, I think it's quite different from yours, and it varies with the region you live in, same for the alcoholics you drink
I've been assured that the English food is really dull ( by one of your countrymen ), but nowadays, with people working so much and never having time for the cooking, fast food is very popular
My boys love to go to McDonalds, which we only do on special occasions

With all the different cultures in this country, the food can be vary varied.
True 'English' food consists mostly of meat pies, sausages, roast meat and vegetables such as potatoes, peas, carrots and cabbage
I love a roast dinner, but very rarely have one
I cook alot of pasta and like spicy food, like curry, chinese is also a favourite
I'm not too keen on Mcdonalds, but have been known to go there on occasions

It's a lot of pasta and pizza here alright, it's so easy to cook and the boys love it.
We did love to go to a Thai or Chinese restaurant before the Euro, and I have a wok and sometimes cook asian-like food myself.
my mother did all this potatos, peas, carrots and cabbage -stuff, my boys hardly know what cabbage is, because I still hate it
So it doesn't look as if the food is so very different after all
What the Germans are known for and what I really love is indeed Sauerkraut - but it's not one of the favourites of the rest of the family, so I rarely cook it

Aahhhh thats better a long soak in the bath, just what i needed
I've heard of sauerkraut, but have never tried it. Whats in it?
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Apr 1, 2004
It's actually white cabbage, sliced into very thin pieces, slightly salted, with some juniper-berries added to it, and fermented. It's a winter food, rich of vitamin c, you can eat it raw, which is the healthiest, or stew it until it's brown- which I prefer. Gives your digestion system a terrible kick
New life ?
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Apr 1, 2004
i don't think i'd like it somehow, all that cabbage Oh and i can imagine what it does to the digestive system!!

I do hate cabbage, really ,but you can't compare it to sauerkraut. Do you know krautsalad which is on the menue of Greek restaurants ? That's another form of cabbage I like, though not in huge amounts.
I could probably bring you some sauerkraut if we go to the meet
Perhaps we should sign up and vote for 10th July, what do you think?
Unc just told me that she'll come too, and I'm sure you'll know some more people to ask

do i sense a little 'arm twisting' here? Ok i'll sign up for it and vote for the 10th July
I've not heard of krautsalad either, the nearest i get to cabbage is coleslaw, but only in small ammounts
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Apr 1, 2004
Coleslaw, yummy, I it, they do it in the Irish pub round the corner, and I ask to have some with any meal I order, can't get enough of it
, didn't mean to set you under pressure , but I do need a reason to go there
I'll sign up and vote then too, perhaps this will quicken matters a bit

They really have to make a decision soon, as i have to book the time off work, and you need to sort out flights etc.
Now we just have to persuade 'Airscotia' to sign up, he promised me ages ago that he would make the 'summer meet'...as your good at arm twisting, its your call!!
Key: Complain about this post
