I am an American, an out-of-work computer programmer, and a mother of 2. I live in Minnesota, land of amazingly cold & snowy winters except for the last several years, in which we haven't had enough snow to teach my kid's what Minnesota is supposed to look like. For recreation, I play disc golf (I see I'm not alone here), read, play role-playing games, and subscribe to magazines full of logic and word puzzles. I have a crossbow, more books than bookshelf space, and an imagination that not only wanders, it sends me postcards from places I've never heard of and doesn't get back to me until it runs out of cash.
I also have amazing insomnia - had it all my life. When I was young, I thought everyone took several hours to fall asleap, woke at any little noise, and took an hour or so to fall asleap again. My mom just thought I slept with my eyes open.
I'm a fairly practical person, and I generally try to spend a good deal less than I make, teach my kids to behave like civilized monkeys, help other people when they aren't doing well, and not be too hard on the environment. Pretty normal, really.
