Your name appears to be attracting the wrong kind of attention. Maybe something without 'girl' or 'boy' in it would be better. Don't look to me for suggestions though- my previous efforts are nothing type home about
Oh dear..
Tomboygirl Posted Sep 20, 2003
Thanks for that. I have noticed a lot of people contacting me trying to chat me up, what is that all about? If they're looking to do that then they should go to a bloody chatroom! Can't think of a new name though as tomboygirl seems to be right for me as I am a tomboy and I am a girl, simple! (that's simple nickname, not simple person although some people might disagree with that!)
Oh dear..

There does seem to be a small minority of 'researchers' who treat the place as a chat room, but once they experience the- far from instant- nature of H2G2 they usually bug*er off elsewhere
The chatroom type people are usually easy to spot- thai teand 2 spel reely poorli and uz abrvtns lyke 'c u l8r' and other cr*p like that..Oh no, i'm on a rant
Oh dear..
Tomboygirl Posted Oct 6, 2003
Yeah, hate the abbreviated spelling myself although I have been known to use it! Don't worry about ranting, that's what H2G2 is for is it not!?!
Oh dear..
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Oct 6, 2003
Very true. I am guilty of using the odd abbreviation, but mainly to fit lots of big words into little sms messages! Can you believe that some kids these days(when i were a lad, in the war..)write txt speak on job application letters?
Yes it's true for i have seen it with my very own
Bye the way, have a look for the 'rong spelings' thread- it's on 'ask H2G2' somewhere, and it's a larf.. though i mite hard to follow.
Also 'Is w**ing really necessary' keeps my small mind very well amused, and i happen to think you will like it also.
Must go- i have the onerous(definate wrong spelling) task of finishing a bottle of i started yesterday- it be lovely and it's mine, all mine
Oh dear..
Tomboygirl Posted Oct 7, 2003
I can't believe people could use that sort of spelling on job application forms, funny thing is though, I bet you some of those morons actually get the job cos some compainues are either desperate or stupid!
I've looked at the wrong spellings thread and got a bit worried as I could actually understand most of what was trying to be said!! What does that say about me?
Oh dear..

You're still impatient with that 'post' button though. I know -this blo*dy site can take a dog's age to do anything some times, but hey, i think it's worth it- i'm addicted to H2.
Yeah- the smiley's took me ages to work out as well- Used to assume that some sort of 'cut and pasting' was required from the smiley page, but if you think smileys are bad, try GuideML- the stuff you have to write to get pictures and stuff on your page. I've tried many times to understand what i have to do, but have given up,the same number of times, though i assume it can't be *that* hard, as loads of folk use it on the site...
...
Oh dear..
Tomboygirl Posted Oct 11, 2003
I wasn't being impatient, for a change! This bloody site was playing up yesterday afternoon and just stopped working for about 5 minutes then when it decided to work, I noticed my posting was posted twice! Maybe it was just my internet connection, who knows.

Try threatening the page that is not loading, by hovering your browser pointer thing over the 'close' button, or by doing something like mimimising the current box It seems to work sometimes with me- the connection returns and the page loads
Mind you, this is probably akin to waiting for a bus on the opposite side of the road, to push the one you're waiting for round the corner, But hey if it works don't knock it.
