Both of my top ones were under a local, it's not as bad as you think it will be...it's just like a normal extraction apparently (I've never had a normal extraction though, so I wouldn't know 
)
The last one I got out, it took about 20 minutes for the anaesthetic to kick in, and then about 3 minutes for them to get the tooth
