Maths Geek (Geekus Mathematicus)
Hey there... so you've found your way onto my page. You've either found your way here purely by accident or you know me. Whichever it is welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. My name's Claire if you don't know me and Mrs Sutherland or Sulley Feet or Maths Geek if you do.
So I am a bone idle student. To be blunt. I'm taking a maths and computer science degree at UKC in Canterbury so I spend pretty much 24 hours a day with a bunch of geeks (except for when I'm playing football or drinking). So if you think your life is boring, think again... I KNOW what boredom is. Needless to say, with the excess amounts of boredom in my life, I find often the most mundane tasks quite exciting as I know I'm not sitting in a lecture theatre!
I'm now in my third year1 and I'm enjoying every minute of it! As well as doing lots of mathsy stuff I'm now programming too!
I'm a maths geek. I won't deny it. I enjoy maths. There I said it. But (uncommon amongst most geeks (as this definition states)) I have a personality and social skills. This is a concept some people find hard to believe. But I'm here to show that maths geeks do know that there is more to a day than algebra and calculus. There's statistics, geometry, discrete, probability, computer algebra, methods...
I can also solve a Rubix Cube in under 10 mins. Not the quickest in the world, that'd be on Speed Cubing.
