I agree, about emotions. And that people hanging onto experiences can 'color' their emotions, if thats what you meant.
Anyway, I'm still rather new here myself, & just thought I'd pop in on a few of the recent arrivals...you almost slipped past me! Just here to say 'hello', 'welcome aboard', maybe offer you a , & some .
If you like, you can click on my nickname, to visit my space,& learn a bit more about me. Otherwise, make yourself comfortable, this's a nice, friendly place to be...I've certainly become very fond of it. There should be an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) by, fairly soon, to give you an official welcome, & a few tips to make you feel a bit more at home. I suppose, if I can offer 1 of my own, it would be to type smileys into the search window, for a whole assortment of icons, like the tea & cheesecake, etc. Hopefully, be seeing you around, ok. Bye for now *waves*

Nice to get a reply, Gypsy, let me know if you've got any questions. I'll try to help, or point out someone who can, alright.

Hello gypsy, welcome to h2g2 (or hootoo as many of us call it, 'cos it's easier to type with only one finger!!)
Jazz is one of my many friends here & he mentioned he'd said hello to you. I'm probably one of the Aces he was thinking of; the Aces volunteer to try & help "newbies" find their way around the sometimes confusing, but always friendly & exciting world of hootoo.
I'm not the worlds greatest technical person, but I do know lots of people who are & can usually point you in the right direction; so if you've got any questions, please feel free to ask, either by replying to this or clicking on my name above, which will take you to my home page where you can find out a bit more about me, read some of my conversations (it's not considered rude!)& join in if you're interested. Do say you're a "newbie" & people will be even nicer than they usually are.
I really liked your intro & journal space, very brave & open of you to put your cards on the table like that. I come from a similar background myself; won't go into gory details yet; but several others here who I know well would also relate to what you say. Sadly, there are a lot of us around.
On to more cheerful things, here follows the patented "Idiots guide to doing smileys" (I was the idiot; not you; but you can benefit from my experience --please passit on if you meet anyone else new who doesn't know!)
1) this is a smiley
2) to find out what it stands for hover your mouse over it
--DON'T click at this stage
3) copy the word down exactly as it says, using lower case letters
4) write a message in the usual way
5) if you want to put a smiley into it
type in <
then the name of the smiley
then type in >
-don't leave a space before & after the word.
6) carry on with your message (add more smileys if you want!)
7) when you've finished, press preview to see how your message will look
8) if the smileys have worked, press post & with a go & have a cup of & some (or even if you prefer!)
9) if it hasn't worked, don't , check the spelling & spaces & try again
10) if it still hasn't worked, post it anyway & get back to me, we'll try again!
Here are some you might like, there are loads more, I'll tell you how to get them easily when we next chat!
(means thanks; in case you're not English)
Have fun!
Terri

Terri Thanks so much for your welcomeI am trying out your smiley thingseeing if it works for me. I tried posting yesterday but it wouldn't take. I don't get here everyday, as sometimes I work long hours. I find this site different, than most sites I belong too. But I love that. Always wanting to learn new things. Thanks Gypsy Talk with you later

Hello, Gypsy, how are you doing?
--sorry I haven't been back to you sooner, I've been having some pretty heavy problems in RL (real life) so hootoo had to go on the back burner for a while.
--everybody on here is very understanding about that sort of thing, we all live in different circumstances, & RL has to take priority, though after awhile you might find that the friends you make on here become a reality in RL. Hootoo has definitely changed my life for the better. When I was in hospital recently, the ONLY get-well cards I got were from fellow hooters; which doesn't mean I'm a sad , but I am rather isolated in some ways & this is a very good way to communicate for me.
--plus it's very good fun!!Which is also important.
--I'm sure you'll find this is true for you too.
Take care, squeak to you soon!
Terri
