There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Oct 28, 2004
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

Dang it, I meant to change the subject line back with that last post.
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

I was (not so calmly) inviting the people who want to talk about pregnancy to talk about it somewhere else
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

I'll reply to the other points on pregnancy later.

Sorry Gosho - I only just saw the last few posts (got distracted after I opened the reply to box). If I have anything more to add I'll see if I can manage to start a thread elsewhere (although I can see connections with the subject line of this thread )
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

If anybody starts a thread about abortion or pregnancy, I'm going to be there in a trice to talk about missing explosives in Iraq.
Just kidding.
Can we discuss the racist aspects of Tolkein's works?

In fact there are definite paralells between the pathologising of childbirth and the war on terror. Both involve using fear to undermine perception; both involve people (usually white men) setting themselves up as experts and investing in themselves a large amount of power over 'ordinary' people; and both involve extensive use and/or misuse of data to support their own position despite opposition from the people they are meant to be helping.

While we're off the subject, why are there no moose in the works of J.K. Rowling?
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

I can't say I've missed the presence of moose in the works of J.K. Rowling. But then I haven't read any of the works of J.K. Rowling and I haven't missed them either

From the Front Page:
"Just Ask
'What's that song?', 'What was Tolkien on about?' and 'What's the weather like where you are?' are just some of the things the h2g2 Community is discussing right now. Where? Ask h2g2 of course!"
What was Tolkien on about??? Anhaga, someone high up has been reading your threads!
Wasn't there also thread drift into pregnancy and abortion on the Tolkien thread? If not, why not?

ps
about time moose were mentioned here . . .
Oh, look: the world is a safer place.

Pssst! Any anti-abortionists still here can have a look at this one, which at least is related to the topic of abortion (unlike this thread).
