Hi Analiese
You asked about tables in GML - and yes you can. GML supports a lot of html tags. There is a whole section in the guide aabout GML here: A187229. You are already using blobs and smileys, (you have found a lot of images I haven't seen much elsewhere).
If you use Brunel when you are editing entries, and chose the 'GML' radio button, you will get a lot of buttons which are tools for inserting most of the common tags. I cannot remember off-hand if tables are in there, but they make coding GML a lot easier.
Hope this helps

Thanks for dropping by and leaving the information, Ms. Ben.
I think I'll just fool around with this stuff a little bit and see what I can come up with. This is more or less looking to making the alt.guide a little more visually exciting and inviting maybe if anything emerges that's interesting.

It IS visually dull at times, isnt it?
One of the things which I really like is the Community Artists scheme. This is a scheme whereby named volunteers create artwork for the Guide. It always seemed to be such a shame that the creativity was words-only and not images too. Are you an artist? You might like to check out the scheme. Do an advanced search for entries about 'community artist'
