Hello
I'm a writer about to retire from The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, USA, where I've written and edited everything from newsletters to technical documents for about 13 years. I'd love to do some travel writing and wouldn't mind posting a story or two on h2g2, if that would be welcome. I have a personal essay just about ready to go about my "maiden voyage" to France in 1984 and why I love to travel. About 500 words, I think.
My husband and I will be traveling in England, France, and Italy this summer -- to celebrate my retirement. I would like to hear good budget-friendly ideas for staying in London (about four days), taking the chunnel versus the ferry to France and encouragement about driving in Southern France. I've already gleaned some great tips on eating etiquette and sights in Paris.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
