I guess you could once you realised? <smiley. And it's fine that you didn't. I just don't want to be criticised for not understanding something that wasn't explicit.
It looked to me like people *were engaged in a creative process *and there was a larger than normal amount of confusion in that thread. IMO that's because Hoo was using it as his personal theory development and he wasn't explicit about it either. That combined with people's anxieties about the proposals made things complicated.
That part of the thread could be used as a classic example of what happens when one runs rough shod over other people's feelings. If I hadn't been so alarmed at the original proposal and pissed off at how Hoo was treating me I would probably have done more facilitation rather than arguing. Hey ho.
I guess it's also a lesson in the fact that if you alarm people the creative process will be a conflicted one

I've just lost patience with people putting Tiggy on some sort of plinth. It's pathetic. And it's anti creative for the community as a whole.
Confusion is good when you making stuff..in fact its essential.
Anyway this is conversation is going nowhere.
(I'm not attacking you kea. It's just bloody frustrating.).

I seriously don't understand why people here are so anti the concept of the pit as a sporting arena place..I'm thinking maybe that's connected to the 'class' issue I mentioned.
h2g2 is basically very middle class.

And the guy who really emphasised to me the importance of the woman in the Haka ceremony..was from two different tribes ie his mother and father. I've found the book where he wrote them down for me.
Nga puhi and Tuhte.

Was that last one Tuhoe?
I agree h2 is quite middle class. But I'm not convinced that's the issue, at least it's not for me. I've had that conversation many times with working class friends about debating and conversation conventions. The issue here isn't one of politeness (for me). It's about safety. I don't have a problem in principle with a place being set aside where people can work with different conventions. What I didn't like in that thread was how little engagement there was with the concerns that were raised, concerns that were valid and were coming from a place of care about the community. Had those concerns been met with respect and consideration I think the idea could probably have evolved in the creative way you've been talking about.
As it was I got Hoo misinterpreting what I was saying so badly that he failed to address the concerns in any way that would move the idea further. Instead he used the thread as his own personal masturbatorium and rode roughshod over other people. He also got nasty with me a couple of times. If people are going to behave like that they can't really complain when others get anti (not that he was complaining so much ).
I'd certainly welcome more discussions that put class in context here.

Speaking of which, I'm also interested what *you* mean by it being a class issue.

Yep I think it's Tuhoe.
I just had another look. It's a bit hard to read his writing..and these words are nothing I'm familiar with.
And Ngapuhi for the other one.
He was called Frank
I seem to remember him saying that it was unusual to be the offspring of two different tribes.
I got on with him like a house on fire...he liked my directness he said. He obviously had a great liking for 'women'..not as a sexual thing..though maybe that too obviously...but to do with their importance in ceremonies like the Haka.
He said basically they are in charge really.

Oh I don't know about the 'class' thing...and it's hellishly complicated in Britain. I'm just floundering around to try to find reasons for problems I have here.
I'm pretty much conflicted about most things like class, sexuality, sexual identity, sectarian..ie catholic or proddy..not literally but what they stand for..you maybe get that or not
I do know I'm white
And jwf seems to nearly always get what Im posting still.

kea I hope I'm not burdening you with coming here and sounding off a bit. please tell me if so. I like you immensely and want you to feel okay *here* to be really honest. It's your space.
You are clearly upset by some of the way Tiggy has treated you. Can you not go to his space and talk about that with him?

Yep. People forget that alot here because the media plays this Once Were Warriors thing (although you can see in that film too that the women have power).

Crikey, not at all. I enjoy our conversations , and I definitely feel free to be honest with you
Hoo, well sometime I might. I don't feel that I have the energy for it at the moment.

Okay this is full on honest from me. This morning I read this from HI >Effers, I left that thread because I got bored of it, of both you and kzwg< From *my* POV it's a downright lie. He posted something so wrong about me on that thread..it's incredible. But to check it out you'd have to go back over the thread and read the back log. He'll know that people won't be bothered to do that. So now he's constructed a new reality of being bored of me and kzwg. On that thread he's been attempting to put me and kzwg in the same box. He's trying to concoct a story that has no basis in reality. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=8242489&show=20&skip=60#pi70 post 71 You might think I'm over reacting. But it's just this kind of stuff that will really debilitate someone with a vulnerability. Of course I'm lucky because I had a brilliant education, and can analyse it. He's tried it on with tiggy..who of course easily made him look stupid. The thing is online...people can easily do nasty stuff to your reality due to their dishonesty. Now if I make a big fuss on that thread where he posted..people will just think 'oh that's Effers' That's why I want a pit. I reckon Frank would agree with me. (But seriously kea..you said you don't have the energy for some things..don't feel you have to get really involved inn sorting it out. I doubt it can be. I'm just giving you an example of stuff that happens here that really stinks for me.).

I'm in that thread, and the only other post addressed to you gave an 'as if' example i.e he wasn't actually talking about you and your life as it is now (or has been), but was trying to make you see what such and such a situation would be like.
Or are you talking about a different thread?
I don't think there is any way for anyone to know if HI was telling the truth about boredom. I can't see a reason to disbelieve him though. What thread is it?

>Or are you talking about a different thread?< I'm talking about his games on the Islam thread. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=8210521&skip=240&show=20 Starting from 256. He knows full well he's got me there. kea it's happening a lot...and people hide behind all the complications. My problem is that I see too much. I probably need to up my medication
