TT - I had a girlfriend like that...once a month she was like that, anyway
Prof - who told you it should be songs? I suggested songs or (other) clips. Such as this, the brilliant contemporary Rumanian philosopher Slavoj Zizek on the equal oversimplicity of religious dogmatism and atheist, materialist (nothing exists except matter) dogmatism such as Richard Dawkins'. Please ignore the intro. I did. [The first man on the vid isn't him]

Pas de problème, mon professeur!
I have to tell you, it's been bugging me - Žižek (to give him his accents) is Slovenian, not Rumanian. I was getting mixed up with another one.
Žižek has been called a rock star of a philosopher - it's not evident from this clip, as he's sitting down reading a lecture - but he gets crowds of students wherever he goes - you can see in his other clips. It's because he's so funny and so brilliant.

Yes. Well, anyway. Remember the Arthur Alexander and Beatles versions of Anna (post 144)?
Well, here's another pairing. Arthur Alexander's version:

1. Great vocal, terrible band - in total disarray, missing some of the chords.
2. Dartford Grammar School soul! Two C's blues!
Apart from that, it's all brilliant, Infie...

If you can follow him through his accent, it's a real treat for the brain cells, and he's a very entertaining man.

JOHN OTWAY
Some may remember him - objectively terrible but a real cult hero.
Two songs:
Audience participation - House of the Rising Sun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPPm7CVP6Bk&NR=1
The wonderful roving microphone plus surprise at the end - Two Little Boys

Those really keen could look up 'John Otway Hurts Himself', if that's your kind of thing, also briefly on You Tube.

Things have died down a bit round here. How about this, to liven things up (or make them even more miserable, you might say)
