Welcome Break.

Well here I am in Holland staying with my sister, who I have recently got back in touch with, after a gap of some many years, too many.

We are in Gouda, in their new house they got a few years ago, and it's lovely.

The break is doing me the world of good, especially after all the events that I've gone through over the past few months?

I'm sure that when I do get home I will feel a lot better about things. As my sister and her husband came to see me, and cleared out all my late wife's clothing and stuff for me, as I could never seem to do it, even after several attempts?

Then they took me back to Holland with them in their car, and I will fly back home, after a wee break.

Mind you, it's so nice here, I think that could be a while now, that how nice it is.

Maybe might even squeeze a Snippet out of this, as I have the time these days to write more, just not felt up to it, after my late wife passed.

Will let you all know when I get home.

I'm back home now, and the air line assistance people were fantastic, they got on and off at both airports, so a big smiley - cheers to them all.

As for doing a Snippet on it all, I think I will, as after my break away I feel a lot better now, more confident and my moral has been lifted as well.

I've even made a start of clearing the house, and packing away all the ornaments and stuff, until I can find somewhere or someone who wants them.

When the nights draw in again I will start writing them again, well, I will see how the first one goes?smiley - winkeye

I'm about an hours drive from Glasgow, all my late wife's clothes went to the cancer research charity shop.

Most of the stuff I have now, are ornaments, Tiffany lamps (which were expensive to buy) and a collection of lead crystal and antique perfume sprayers.

Not the sort of stuff us males have a use forsmiley - erm

They will put them to a good use and the dont sell to the trade, there is always E-bay if you are up to it.

Good luck smiley - cheers

Aye! The thing with EBay is, having to wrap it and send it, all that crystal is very fragile, so would need a lot of bubble wrap, and the postage is expensive!

I might end up taking it all to a car boot salesmiley - winkeye

Well, I'm in the process of clearing out the house, to make it more minimal, my late wife bought a lot of ornaments, even she admitted that she went over the top.

I've made a good start in the kitchen, and gave away a lot of baking gear and other stuff that I will never use, to a young couple down the road, they were well pleased with it all.

So I used the new storage space, and cleared all the clutter from the kitchen tops, it look a lot better nowsmiley - ok

Going to make a start in the living room next, but I will leave that for the next rainy day, as I'm not going to waste all this good weather, being stuck inside.

I've got the cardboard boxes and the bubble wrap ready, for all that crystal and ornaments, also got one of the two seater settees to go.smiley - cool

Today I took the old garden seat, which was rotten, round the back, sawed it into small pieces, with the power saw, and burnt it smiley - cool

There is some thing about having a bonfire, that seems cleansing, gives you feeling of moving on.smiley - ok
