Rutle42 - myself
This is a very quick introduction to me. I joined H2G2 specifically to discuss one posting with one individual, but it all looks pretty interesting.
As a child of the 50's I took great interest in our (late) leader's forays into Science Fantasy (I have hated Science Fiction since I was about 11) including having audio tapes of all the HHG radio shows. And whenever pressed for a number I tend to use 42.
I live in Vancouver, although I went to School and university in England. My business/career has been computer software for about 20 years, but I am a keen amateur musician. I also play bridge starting seriously when the game "went serious" online about 5 years ago, and in fact my latest software creation is a product to do with online bridge.
I have (about) 4 kids, meaning that I include 1 who has moved away to Montreal to study, more or less permanently.
I named myself for H2G2 after the Python spoof of the Beatles. I like Twiglets which you cannot get in Canada (though they no longer like me, probably due to the chemicals in modern foods), good European wine (though BC is catching up fast in this regard), and "proper" home cooking of which I do a fair amount. I'm married to a schoolteacher, and have my office at home, so some of the time I feel like "househusband".
I expect I'll update this in due course with fancy lettering and links when I see how this has come out.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
