Lonely
dottyfix Started conversation Jun 3, 2004
I've been sat here "lonely"
since the 6th of May,
Watching poets pass me by
day after blooming day.
I thought I'd never ever move
from my "lonely" spot on here,
sitting sadly in despair
shedding the odd tear.
Well goodness gracious me
I'm now excited can't you see,
cos someone special came along
and found me "lonely".
I really am quite thankful,
you lingered for a while,
and offered me true friendship
in such a splendid style.
I'll be your friend if you'll be mine,
my hand I give to you,
I look forward to our chats,
now I'm no longer blue.
You made my day and set me free
from chains that bound me here,
in my sad old ditty
that was a virgin poem I fear.
Thankfully I have progressed
at practising how to rhyme,
and built up my portfolio
slowly over time.
Now friends are very special folk
we need throughout our life,
to stop us feeling "lonely"
and lift us from our strife.
So please feel free to call again,
and stop and have a talk,
I'll happily reach for your hand
and go with you for a walk!
Luv Dottyfix

Dottyfix, I'm not sure if you've stumbled upon Asteroid Lil's personal space over on h2g2, where she hosts an on-going series of conversation threads at a virtual Atelier (A304354). It’s a gathering place for a rather eclectic group of Salonistas (regulars to the Atelier) who enjoy sharing info from different parts of the world. Very laid back, friendly, and—at times—fanciful.
Lil occasionally hosts text adventures. I believe that’s how I happened upon her pages. They whole gang was in the midst of a Masque, acting as different characters out of mystery novels or sleuths of the cinema. (see here: F38024?thread=221059) There was one adventure that took us almost a full year to play out—The Mother of All Gooses (A904961)—which was a Holiday Pantomime (typically British) with a host of fairy-tail [sp?] characters in the cast, and the Salonistas providing “audience participation.” Last Christmas, we embarked on a short trip called Fetching the Goo Spruce 2003 (F38024?thread=355779), where we left our mundane[?] personas in the Atelier while we sought the “perfect holiday tree” for decorating the Salon.
Currently, we’re just chatting in the Atelier, but be aware that the “Subject” line is changing frequently, as part of a little side-story we’re toying with.
As I’ve mentioned, most of the action centers around sharing a bit of what’s happening in our lives and what’s transpiring in the world around us. The Atelier is simply a way-point in our travels and makes a great place to stop in and catch up “old times” with friends.
All that being said, consider yourself invited to join us…to lurk, to share, to join adventures, to kibbutz from the sidelines. Your choice. Yet a marvelous set of choices, in my estimation. Yes, it comes highly recommended. Will we see you there?

Dottyfix, you did see the invite above, right? Always available, as long as Lil hosts the convo page.
