Unless of course that's the effect you were going for.


Hmm... I used to have a blob that showed up somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be working now. I thought it was just a goo thing (as in not working in goo), but maybe not. Maybe one of those codes is defunct now.

Ok, that was strange... in other skins, the picture of the gate shows up when you want to start a conversation on one of my journal entries. In goo, only the silly blurb about me being excited shows up, whether you're posting on an existing convo, or starting a conversation.

I'll never understand these things...

For me in Brunel it says (to me) "Why thank you for writing to me, Recumbentman, back from Czechy, off to Limerick" which is what I want it to say. I don't see any mention of "Your Nickname is".

Curious.

Back from Limerick now, off to alter my suffix.

Maybe it's just in Goo then...

For some reason, they're not bothering to make things work properly in Goo most of the time.


What it says up there is this:

Why thank you for writing to me, Lady Scott † Keeper of Long Afternoon NapsYour Nickname is Lady Scott † Keeper of Long Afternoon Naps.

That's exactly how it looks too, no space between my name the first time it appears, and where it reminds me of my nickname. (Goo always reminds you of your nickname when you post)

I put a after the code for the greeting in order to make sure it wouldn't run together like that.

How awful. I'm going now to put in a just for you.

There must be someone in charge of goo that's neglecting their job. Write them a stern reprimand; Editorial Feedback might be the place (the Towers keep an eye out there).

I won't bother to complain to TPTB about the little inconsistencies in Goo. I heard some time back that any new developments would not likely be usable in Goo.

Not sure why they made that decision... I guess they just don't think there's enough people who use it any more to bother. (Or maybe it's that the only ones who use it are crazy - yeah, that's probably closer to the truth! )

I'm pretty sure they were serious though - I think I heard it from Jim Lynn, or one of the italics. (Can't remember exactly who, was a while back.)
