Hope everyone had a fabulous St Patricks Day (even if your not Irish) and Prof..what would you need a £700 TV for anyway ? Not to mention £22,000 for new kitchens ,etc, etc etc ? Plus a £400 per month food allowance.....you'd only put on weight ! See how I think about your health ?

Hope this drum head will work for you, my wooh- it's plastic, but it makes noise. I'll probably post it separately as I have the package the replacement came in and it's the perfect size, rather than sticking everything else in a box of such large dimensions. Apparently parcels overseas are calculated by size in addition to weight...

had a technical problem with download/upload speeds, found reason apparently I'm on a 8gig allowance and have been hitting it, so speed dropped, but for an extra £5 per month, I've just updated with my ISP and should get 20 gig allowance shortly

Here is a joke translated from a French joke site
Love is like rugby: - It begins with a touch, and ends with a platting.

zendevil Posted Mar 22, 2008
Hmm; not sure waht a "platting" is!!! Trying to define what love is seems rather difficult ; though it must be said the French do devote a great deal of time to pondering the problem....
I certainly couldn't begin to say what "love" is, i think the Greek language is best for this sort of stuff, they have loads of different words for love; don't sak me which, Snailrind probably knows; but they sort of subdivide it into stuff like:
*The type of love you have for your family, excluding partner & children
*The love you have for your kids
*Love for a partner that is primarily based on physical attraction
*Love for a partner that is primarily based on friendship, shared interests etc
*Deep Soulmate love, where you are virtually two halves of the same being in some way
...There are probably millions more. Do we love our ham(p)ster? Do we love our plants? If we help a stranger, is that also love? Is "Being In Love different to caring very much about somebody? How much is based around needing/being needed/needing to be needed? Where does "online stuff" fit into all this?
What do "you lot" think?

There is a love one feels for certain pursuits, like art or filmmaking. Passion redirected into career or hobby.
There is love for celebrity idols (like Leo )
PS Happy Easter!

Hi Terri, me again. I wanted to share some computer artwork with you that I did. It's stuff I want to paint in oils. Here's the link, I hope you can see it.

Hi JEllen, happy Easter (& to any of the rest of you who do "Easter" stuff etc!)
Managed to open the small pics, but not the large versions.; plus, as you know, computer screen is yellowy-green, so can't really comment on the colours. From what i saw, my favourite would be the one on the right, 2nd one down, the vertical zigzags & oval blobs...but that's just me! The squares are rather satisfying also... for all your stuff & for being brave enough to share it!
Garrgh, here it's pretty yuk, grey & rainy. No easter in sight, poor things would probably drown or expire with dpression! No probs, i'm not big into stuff. My main concern right now is just the usual "managed to pay the bills, so have no cash left for the next week" nonsense. It's horrible having to live on credit, but much, much worse having to hope that fiends might help you out, especially when most RL fiends i have (which aren't many) are in the same situation.
I can quite understand why Dubman is cycling off to the coast to seek seasonal work next week, there's totally No W**k here in town except during the festivals & living on benefits is demeaning for body & soul.
However, it's not going to be an easy time, for either of us. I just hope he manages to land a job quick, living in a tent in this weather, then getting smartened up for interviews for Mac Jobs with live-in accomodation takes some guts. Having his best Fiend & family miles away meanwhile also takes guts.
Send some hootoo his way please! (We know it works!)

Sorry to butt in JEllen, I hope you don't mind but I took a sneaky look at your artwork and thought it was glorious. The colours are superb. You really are very clever.

Sort of; it's a from fellow hooter & hooked shakily into the speaker system, but seems to have decided to start playing Silly Bi=uggers big style; just as the guarantee runs out: typical! I reckon these things have a built in "date of expiry" to con you into buying the New Super Improved version!
Bou has a "black magic box" thing, which he sometimes brings round & hooks into my TV, but the Tv can't connect to the speakers, so it's all rather frustrating really. Generally we just end up swearing at technology & try & play stuff ourselves "You can always depend on my Fender, but my djembe is a bit too small!" (It's a kiddies djembe, not really ideal for a guy who plays King Size Conga stuff....but aww, it's pretty!)

(Hope that link works!)
He has to do loads of admin stuff tomorrow, mainly trying to badger The Powers That Buy into explaining precisely *why* he is pretty much forced out of town to seek work: this is supposed to be the capital city of the region & he's willing & able to take any job offered: it really doesn't seem fair.
Joa visted tonight, he's a German guy who is in much the same position, he's lived in this town for most of his life, is tri-lingual, intelligent, willing & able...& unemployed; he is over 40 & Not French.Same old story. So he's doing voluntary work for the Greens: we are desperately trying to find a place for a Party Office, accesible to ALL members of the community, with a reasonable rent; that has to be the start. A 5th floor office with no access for handicapped; no public transport after 7pm means effectively, anyone Green cannot access them unless they have enough spare cash for phone calls, have a computer, or go begging for a lift to meetings.
Bernadette is visiting tomorrow, she is an ex P.E teacher, coach etc, injury forced her to retire, she is built Big & Very Frustrated that she can't seem able to get a job as "coach to the future coaches"...meanwhile the young 'uns wander around wanting to play, can't do so, divert their energy into wrecking things.
We are discussing various ideas; co-transport, tramways, mini'railways etc. The only Public Park (ie: green space) here is inaccesible to anyone with a handicap or a young kiddie in a pushcahir (stroller). Until the problem of "Hey, you don't hear my voice 'cos i can't get out there & tell you about my views!" is solved...no hope of saving Polar bears or patching up ozone layers, decreasing meat consumption etc; because the people who actually live "hand to mouth" don't get heard unless they are Loud & belligerent & determined & experienced. OK, i *am* all of those, but most folks aren't.
Which really isn't fair.
I read Obama's speech today yeah, not many future Presidents of USA grew up on food stamps.
