Remember that the original rules were to select six hour time slots. Betting on a specific time, therefore, increases your odds should you be correct. A window of 15 minutes within the time selected will be allowed. Bonus prize for the person selecting the exact time involves being allowed (required) to hear viking tell his childhhod history and his monkey AND his gerbil, who is now sadly deceased.

Okay kiddies - here is a summary of the betting thus far:

psychocandy: noon to 6 pm today, Wednesday. You have lost but may rebet.

kitush - 6 pm to midnight today, Wednesday. Current odds are three to two.

NBY and Terri, who have now agreed on the likely time of his return - 12:01 am Thursday to 6 am Thursday. Even odds, due to inside information.

Aye bee - 7 pm Thursday. Current odds are 15 to 1.

lil - Either 2 am or 4 pm Friday. Odds for 2 am are 10 to 1. Odds for 4 pm Friday are 25 to 1.

The better your odds, the longer the no-expense paid holiday.

8:40 pm Wednesday night... Terri has just received a text message from viking and instructed me to post its contents here.

Revised bets as to the day and time of his return will now be accepted.

hmmm...tis really turning into a soap opera! See Id like to push it forward to another day, but im just going to stick to my guess of tomorrow at 6pm. Plus - i dont really like the prize!

You're noted for 6 pm tomorrow, Thursday. You get 20 to 1 odds. Apparently, ther is only one meal per day that counts as such. 6 pm is when we begin to consider thinking about contemplating the meal. Plus, it's aperitif time, which is Very Important.

I'm annoyed by that, too. Eventually, everyone has to figure out that if you don't like your life, only you have the ability to change that. Other people can only help if you let 'em.

Okay, we seem to have a tie. kitush and abbi came closest with their 6:00 bets, but missed the 15 minute window. Therefore, the two of you must share the prize. You may discuss the destination, since you will be in this together. The no-expense paid holiday in the francophone war zone that also offers a variety of interesting diseases will last one week. You shall also need to determine the exact manner in which you will share your male companion's comapany.
