As you can see, my name is Bryher, and I come from Cornwall. I was born on 9.10.1984, making me currently 18, but depending on how long this stays on the site, I’m sure you will have to change that figure for yourself!
I am madly into all genres of music, but have a special focus on jazz, playing with the Helston School Jazz Orchestra http://www.hsjo.co.uk. We travel to many competitions, and are looking forward to a tour to Gozo next year. I also play with Cornwall Youth Wind Orchestra, who will also be touring soon.
I have Grade 8 Jazz Sax (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone), Grade 7 Clarinet – and I will take Grade 8 next year (I also play bass clarinet), Grade 5 Piano, and I am hoping to take Grade 5 Flute next year also. I have taken both Music and Music Technology AS levels, and will be taking both of these on to A2.
Most of my spare time (out of college), is either spent doing homework – YUK!, or spending time with my boyfriend of just over 10 months. Oh, and all the music that I have already mentioned!!
I also have a great interest in caring for disabled people, working with a play scheme run by NCH (National Children’s Homes) for mentally and physically handicapped children during the holidays. I have also gained the Award of Excellence from Millennium Volunteers. I hope to progress on to Uni to either study Psychology or Occupational Therapy.
I do not know what I will contribute to this site, but I have already found a lot of good, inspirational articles here. So I guess all I can say, is – WATCH THIS SPACE!!
