*goes on a guilt epic journey for not having replied for 3 weeks to this wonderful posting of such intricately msatered discussion and decides that she can never be forgiven* I'm SORRY!!! I didn't mena to..it was the IB. It has ruined me *breaks down and cries* Too bad, I'm not in drama But in all sincerity, I am truly sorry. Time no longer exists, except now that I'm on break hehe.
Perhaps it has something to do with paper...ya know 2 ply papers.. Perhaps it could be 'rep' and 'lying' as most people just babble on about pointless things when replying to something and hence they are representing themselves (ie. Me at this exact moment in the time continuum..oh wait that last moment..er the moment before the last moment..DAMN! )

Right. Our school's only good about it, because otherwise school-wide marks go down and then we get less money.
Er..alot...(about 1/4 of the people I talked to are failing at least 1 class). Some are just failing one class (with a D or an F) and some are of course scoring with C's in lots, which is just passing. It's proven. 20 or so freshman are dropping out of IB (Pre-IB anyhow..) over this semester break. Luckily, I managed to talk my friend into staying . I'm sure they just want to reach around and give you a big for always telling them the truth.
They have thoughts? Ooo dear...ICP? err no? I know not the names of the stations, shows, or such. I think American Evangelist might be different than ones you have there . Some of the songs are good, but not many.

They haven't done a launch in AGES, but yes if they ever do one, I will take some pics...

Oh My God! Have I not been onto H2G2 for over a month?? I am so sorry about leaving you, but work called I'm afraid!

If you looked on my space then you'd have seen a list of work that I have to do - most of it is gone now but, with the exams gone, workloads have stepped up a bit - we are nearing the end of the course and every teacher is saying "well you must prioritise [insert subject]" and thus I have 6 prioritised subjects (altho that doesn't work!). The good news is that i have done my tok essay, first draft of it anyways. The person next to me (Called Kirsty) is just trying to work out which one she is gonna do, which is always fun.

Anyways, what news have i got... ah yes, I got rejected from my last choice of university coupla days ago and still haven't heard anything from Bristol and Cardiff, so have been enquiring to the NHS to see what jobs they might have around the October mark, just in case i don't get into said universities. But that is ok.
I also have my English oral today - I have to commentate on a randomly chosen piece of literature that I have studied (Well, an extract of about 30 lines) but i am reasonably confident about it so I am not particularly worried about it. What I am thinking might not go so well is the fact that I have a German group oral tomoz, for which I have at least done some work but probably not enough. Ah, i'll blag it!

I tell you what is really weird - I run this site (geocities, nothing special) that i may or may not have told you about.. it basically is a way of people who chance upon it to get some decent advice etc etc. Well, from Jan 1st, 2003, there has been over 350 visitors to my site, well over what there was for ALL of last year. I am really wondering how this happened (not complaining tho!).

So, what else.. ah, Bryher is good - she also has had a LOT of work to do recently so also hasn't been around much on hoo-too, but we still see each other most weekends and some weekdays, so all is good in my world of love

Ooo! What's your TOK essay on? Nice essay-ness getting done before everyone else. Which means you can procrastinate in other subjects!

I'm sure you'll get in somewhere, but if not, you will certainly make the best of the opportunity thingy that presents itself in whatever garish clothes it may be wearing at that exact moment. Ooo! My bro had his last week, too. He spent a few hours preparing for it (think his oral was on the Great Gatsby, which they had managed to cover in class). He thought he did well.. how'd you do?? And on German oral? Gosh..oral overloads Did ya do nifty on em?

Not much news here. Just laughing like hell at IB and our honor code thingy here in the states... As a kid in my spanish class tells me (I'm in a span. 2 class with a bunch of sophomores, so they know more than I do about IB stuff) "They [IB Administrators, teachers, etc.] tell you that you can't cheat, but you have to. If you don't, you're either very, very smart, or very, very dumb." 3 times of getting caught gets you expelled from the IB program here (1 gets you a teacher/parent conference, 2 gets you a nice little permanent mark on your record that they must tell colleges about). Just this week I would have been kicked out about 6 or so times (for giving or borrowing) if I had been caught every one. I'm innocent, I tell ya..
Well, I guess I got my PSAT scores back (Preliminary SATs, which are American college entrance standardized exams..comprable to ACTs as well.) I don't actually take them to count 'til next year and even that is a year earlier than they must be taken. I got not half bad scores, though..63/80 (above 97% of sophomores taking it) on writing, 68/80 (above 98% of sophomores taking it), 50/80 (above 63% of sophomores taking it)..see my weakness? Equals 187/240 for total apparently (?).. which I think is about 1240 on SATs (out of 1600). Though my friend seems to think you just multiply it by 10, but that would give me an 1800-something, and that's impossible to achieve, so maybe I should ask someone.
Anyhow...trying not to fail out of school. Joy! And playing about on AOL instant messenger (and fixing up to be on MSN) and my reg. chatroom quite a bit more.
Right. That's it....planning to make an IB site including chat, message boards, etc. through a whole bunch of free site-making things (yahoo, icq, etc.) because I'm cheap and I'll have to get around to html-ing stuff as I haven't got a nice scripter-thing

Oh my, not replied for 4 weeks! And I have my homepage as my personal space?? I should be ashamed of myself! Trouble is that I always press 'Escape' as soon as I open a window because I always open one with the mind to go somewhere specific! Grr, ah well, I have time to reply now. lol, I am actually not typing from my home pc, I am still at college (it is quarter past 5!!) awaiting the arrival of my girlfriend who is meeting some canadians that are flying over here (probably at this very moment!) - some of which are staying with her. Lol, funny thing - one of the people is called Ashley, is 18 and likes to sleep in and go to bed late. I automatically thought that it was male and so got my hackles up somewhat - Bryher didn't actually know but had scant details of this person and so we went searching all over the net until we found the website of this person - female! lol, I know that it doesn't matter to me (and I trust Bryher yada-yada-ya) but still - apprehension!

Now to the actual replying! lol

My Tok essay was on the title of ' "What distinguishes Areas of Knowledge from one another is not how ideas are generated, but how they are evaluated." Do you agree? ' But I left the redraft until the last min so it was a middling essay methinks!

Talking of universities (which you was, about this point in your message!), I have now got replies from all of my unis, all of the rejections. Took me a day or two to get over the last rejection but am over it now. Got a back up plan which involves working my ass off in a hospital for the next year and reapplying at the same time.

German Oral - on one of them I got a 6, on the other I got a 5 (but thought I did better than that, ah well!)

Thanks for your brief description of the American education system, you said "see my weakness" but no, I don't cos you didn't put what that score was for you silly-billy!

Have made a website (somewhat) for my college's IB group for this year - can be found at www.geocities.com/truroib but be warned - *WORK IN PROGRESS!* am gonna get a lot more ppl's deets onto there (including my own) so watch that space (so to speak - you don't actually have to be there and refresh the page every 5 mins - won't happen that soon! lol - all for CAS hours of course! )

Bryher is goign to Cardiff to study Occupational Therapy, she got some grades back on the 13th and she did much better than she thought - she now needs simply to finish her a-levels cos she has enough points!
