***Your Birthdate: September 22***
You tend to be understated and under appreciated.
You have a hidden force to do amazing things, doing them your own way.
People may see you as strange and shy, but they know little.
Your unconventional ways have more power than they (and even you) know.
Your strength: Standing up for what you know is true
Your weakness: You tend to be picky and rigid
Your power color: Silver
Your power symbol: Square
Your power month: April

Anyway who wants a signed and bookplated copy of Robert Rankin's new book?
I've no idea if it's any good, but if you're interested I'll getcha one.

You excel at anything difficult or high tech.
In other words, you're a total (brilliant) geek.
It's difficult for you to find people worth spending time with.
Which is probably why you'll take over the world with your evil robots!
Your strength: Your unfailing logic
Your weakness: Loving machines more than people
Your power color: Tan
Your power symbol: Pi
Your power month: July
I've never thought of myself as a geek

Well, here's mine now. I think it's different from the one I had before, it probably depends on which site you go to.
You lucked out the the skills to succeed in almost any arena.
Put you in almost any business or classroom, and you'll rise to the top.
You're driven and intense, but you also know when to kick back and cooperate.
Your ability to adapt to almost any situation is part of what's going to make you a success.
Your strength: Your attention to detail
Your weakness: You can be a little too proud of your successes
Your power color: Turquoise
Your power symbol: Arrow pointing up
Your power month: August

Well at least got evil robots *and* the Pi symbol.
So, one signed Rankin for B'Elana, is the tally yes?

No, it's no problem. Did we agree what form your name would take?

I don't recall having talked about it.
To be honest, I think just the signature and the date should be sufficient, or would that be unusual?

Well it doesn't have to be dedicated if you don't want. And it would mean you could ebay it as signed a bookplated first edition if you didn't like it.

I don't intend to ebay it, it's just that my name doesn't mean anything to the author, so it's not personal anyway - if you know what I mean. My son once got a book from the then 'Stadtschreiber' here (an author who is elected by a jury and gets a certain amount of money and a small house to live in for a year, rent-free), with a very nice and personal dedication because he had met her a few times, so that was nice.

Aye, I can understand your reasoning on that one.

What did you have?
i went off and had a bath and made my way to the pub in Hove where I over-ate on crayfish tails with a 'remoulade' or some such fancy thing and potato jackets with cheese and bacon strips. They were side plates and I thought I could handle two lots of the crayfish, but it seemed to be bit of overkill. Still seafood is great in summer and they prepare a good meal at this pub.
