I've broken another tooth. It's not painful, just annoying. So, another a trip to the dentist is in order. Hope I get the Swedish one not the Spanish one. The Swedish one has a soft and confident touch and talks through what he is doing, whereas the Spanish one has huge great pawing mits and chats to the nurse.

Thanks...
I've now an appointment for Friday afternoon, still don't know which one I'll be seeing. I expect the Swedish one though. The Spanish one may have lost his NHS funding -- not because he's a bit medieval in his skill, no -- because the PCT doesn't want to spend the money.
They are both speak fine English, the Swede does so without an appreciable accent.

My new dentist is Japanese... can't understand much of what he says. I miss the one I used to have... Dr. Neal was a fun guy.

Oh, he's still got funding, but he's having to be really sparing with it, so check-ups aren't to the same standards, and kids and the elderly get precedence.
All the same, I'll be going easy on the nuts! (You excepted.)

Ugh, broken teeth are no fun! I cracked just a sliver of enamel this summer, and no one wanted me as an emergency case (my regular dentist was on holiday) because it didn't hurt. So when I finally got an appointment, the caries had eaten so deep that I was within micrometers of a root canal. Luckily, my dentist was able to do a temporary filling, allowing the dentine to heal. After a few weeks she replaced the temporary filling with another temporary one, and I expect a permanent filling and healed dentine by january...

Oh, yes, it's living bone tissue, nourished via the pulp of the tooth. So it can heal! I've seen the x-rays to believe it too! Only the enamel won't heal...

I think I'm gonna get this temporary filling they put in replaced with a white composite one. Though it will be £50. Hmm. It's alot more than a free 'silver' but I guess I'm "vain". You wouldn't see a silver one during conversation, it's the second molar on the lower right of the jaw. But I'd be able to see it a mirror.

The only ones you don't have to pay for here, are the silvr ones - but you won't find any dentist who does them. So you end up paying anyway.
