What I've done is jsut put the story up on the site as a guide entry and linked to it from my journal... I've not done anything to the structure, just put the body up so that I can test the water as to wether it's any good or not...
Having it publish in 
would draw attention to from a wider audiance, would imply that it's of a certain standard and if they liked I could be asked to write a few more fairy tales for them and that would get me an official post reporters badge
I've had some of my stranger, comic poems featured in before... I'm not sure if the 'serious' poetry I write would appeal to a wider audiance though if they are happy to let me submit it I wouldn't be too adverse to it...

Probably... Might be more likely if you cut-and-paste them to their own entry... At least it seems it'd be easier for the folks at if you did...
