Oh feck!
Stealth "Jack" Azathoth Posted Mar 3, 2006
It fluctuates a fair amount. Having had a chronicly slow dial-up, I guess it's more tolerable than I'd feared.
Oh feck!
Snailrind Posted Mar 3, 2006
Might it depend on the time of day you use it? Perhaps other users clog up the whatsit, the line or whatever.
Oh feck!

I haven't used it much in recent days but at the time there didn't seem to be a real pattern to it, in that it wasn't necessarily limited at what are generally refered to as peak hours, but was limit at others. or seemed to be.
It's not as bad as I had feared, not as good as I might have hoped. I wouldn't recommend toucan, but I'm not tearing my hair out in frustration.

So yeah, these n*nces are limiting my bandwidth outside of peak hours, in violation of the fair usage agreement. Coprophiles!
Oh feck!
Stealth "Jack" Azathoth Posted Mar 28, 2006
Oh yeah the other thing is that since I went to them for broadband the quality of my phoneline [when I'm not connected to the internet] is extremely poor - crackling on the line, everyone seems very far away and sometime I can't make out what on the other end at all.
I'm fecked-off I wanna slap somebody!
I wanna take the entire IDT Telecom group to a hostel in Slovakia and show them just how much fun I can have with a meat-cleaver!

Although what they did the other day was pretty much out of order...
I am at this precise moment planning to download about 3gigs worth of documentry from democracy player, so, now may not be the best time to make fuss.
Oh feck!
Stealth "Jack" Azathoth Posted Mar 31, 2006
One documentry I can't get because of 'server error', and the other after 8 hours of dowloading I just canceled by accident, an easy thing the way the active download pane is designed. You try to cancel one download, nothing happens you click to cancel it again and instantly you've canceled two downloads.
Oh!

What was the point in hiding that?! You might as well hide the entire thread retrospectively because of the title doesn't pass the profanity filter.
Yeah... What I said was that I need to find a new broadband provider because Toucan is ing me off! Any recommendations?
Oh!
Stealth "Jack" Azathoth Posted Jan 16, 2007
I'm looking at http://www.newnet.co.uk/broadband/home.php
Oh!
Snailrind Posted Jan 16, 2007
I asked Gothly a while back for a recommendation, but apparently the deals are different for different areas.
