Ijust wanted to say how utterly brilliant you are and...
Hi Stealth,
love your additions to the 'non sequiturs' ... it appeals to my sense of the ridiculous. Let's see how long we can keep it going but I fear there are some who don't quite get it.
Agree with you about David Gray but I am extremely old!
Took my 14 year old daughter to see '8 Mile' the other week and was impressed at the quality of the film. Have you seen it? Daughter is utterly obsessed with Eminem. The camera certainly likes him......it must be the danger of the guy which appeals.
I'm not so old that I don't remember how it feels to be 14 and wanting the dangerous/unobtainable/unreachable. All part of growing up.

Hi Insomniac...
Welcome to my humble corner of the hootoo Community
Thanks, if like the slightly ridiculous and weird slant then I should plug Rankin He makes a living out of it and does so with much more skill and structure than I could hope to
Yes, not every quite gets it, but weird a random thinking are my usual frame of thought so I don't have to try too hard
I still haven't seen it I saw the ST: X twice and could only fit Good Girl, with the actress that plays/played [doesn't watch it] Rachel in Friends... which was strangely compeling given how mundanly done it was.
I liked Eminem when I was younger because he was witty and original and listening to his music was a release for my teenage anger at the world It was good I did or wouldn't have found Dido, which is now more my thing... I think when the concept of D12 came along with there mundane and unoriginal attepmt to be shocking but achieving the banal and unexpressive lyrics of cashing in... pathetic IMO...
Yes, David Gray isn't considered as exciting as other artists... I must admit that I considered him to be quite mediocre until I heard a little known D&B remix of Please Forgive Me... I identify quite strongly wioth alot of what he writes... like the best writers in comes to him quickly he doesn't spend hours using a formula... I was alittle dubious of his latest album... clearly aimed at his US market I felt... but I'm still obsessed with him...
All part of growing up
Hugs
Stealth.

Hi Stealth.
Thanks for reply, I'm new to 'hootoo' and still feeling my way around.
Interested in your thoughts about Eminem. I like a lot of his stuff - what I've heard anyway - will borrow daughter's collection and listen at leisure (when she's at school) one day. The allegations of misogyny and homophobia worried me until I saw the film - very moral mostly. If I wasn't secure in my relationship with my daughter I'd be worried about this obsession but I remember feeling just as passionate about The Beatles in 1963.
Told you I was old!
My knowledge of current music trends is confined to Radio 2 - (assuming you're in the UK and know what I mean). Don't knock it until you've tried it! Have a few CDs too of recent purchase!
A track Wogan played this morning stopped me short - Bonnie Tyler singing 'In My Life' (Lennon/McCartney or vice versa - anyway the old Beatles' song). It was stunningly beautiful. Bonnie Tyler being a gravel-voiced Welsh rocker who had some hit songs in the early 1980s.
I also love a lot of what Dido has recorded, Anastacia gives me goosebumps and Ms Dynamite is an awesome talent.
I've lived with S Club 7, Steps and Westlife for 2 years and The Spice Girls before that so - Long Live the Revolution.
Have you tried Classical music?
Wagner, Schubert or Berlioz have the power to move.
Beethoven's 9th Symphony would move a mountain.
I caught classical music when I was about 22! Still infected!
Soar high!
Love
