Heya Vicki.

I noticed your an ACE as well as a Biker. smiley - cool

Maybe you can put me back on track? smiley - erm

I keep losing the thread from conversations. I Kknow I'm doing something wrong (or not doing something right, more like!).

The other wierd thing is when I go back to some threads that I read last night, they are listed as only an hour or so old. Does this prove Einstein & Hawkings theories that time is wrapped around itself? or just another outrider blooper?

I think what you're doing wrong is this....

There are 3 ways to access a conversation from your personal space....

Firstly you will see the name of the thread, this will take you straight to the beginning of the conversation.

Secondly, you will see a column of dates, this is the last time you posted on that thread and will take you back to your post.

Thirdly, you will se a second column of dates/times, this is the last time someone posted on the thread....this will take you to the last "page" of the thread.....

does that help?

I don't use the "Mark Read" bit....sort of didn't quite understand what it was there for at the beginning, and never used it since smiley - laugh

If you don't understand, what chance me?

I've since discovered using "refresh" in personal space helps.
Too much too remember though!

Mind if i add u to the friends list? I've not tried it out yet and it might be easier to keep track of those that help and share at least one interest.

There's always smiley - tea and smiley - choc. Sometimes VFRgal even lets me have smiley - cake when "WE" are not dieting (hey i'm big but the bike can take it!).

smiley - laugh Of course you can add me to your friends.....you then get my journals of anything I write....I will add you to mine too.

As for understanding stuff on here....I have no hesitation in getting someone over to help with that if you want. There are guru's on this site who are supposed to know everything on here and they're sort of redundant atm.....

.....want me to call one over?

I think i'm doing smiley - ok right now but i might take a rain check on the offer. I'm bound to dig a very big hole sooner or later.

I'm working on the theory that if I trundle round and drop in on things i MIGHT remeber how to do it. Fun though smiley - erm

I'll do the friends bit right now and see if i can wander of and get lost again.

It just like biking really smiley - cool

Heya.

Just dipped into ur journal. Wow you've had a rough time too!smiley - wah

We were touring in France July 97 and had a smash. VFRgal couldn't believe it. She'd always reckoned I was the safest guy she'd pillioned.

Typical Brit, sun in eyes, dipped lid to block it out and noticed I was on the right side of the centre lines. Yep! Time to get back on the left. Whys she hitting me in the back, i glance back she points forward with eyes so wide in horror. Bang!!! 2x360 spins desperate to keep it upright for her sake (wouldve dumped it on own). Vfrgal was thrown off on impact doin major trauma to left Knee (nowhere else).

She still has pain but can at least walk for a while now. I promised her 2 dogs when she was able to walk. So now we have Henry and Diesel, 2 8mnth white boxer boys.

D is really her dog an H mine but when she stays with her folks an walks them seperately at night it H who growls at anyone who gets too close (read: if he sees ya = too close). It's not safe at night for her to walk em where we live sadly.

If you ever need to borrow 2 powerful dogs for a walk they are always willing!!

Hope things get easier from now on.

Remember: Ther's more good people out there than bad, we just make less noise.

Big smiley - ok % smiley - cheers to Gary. Parners usually go unoticed by everyone but the principal.

Hi Outrider

You learn by the things that happen to you....as Gary put it, if this kind of thing were to happen, it was the best way it could have, if you see what I mean....no "harm" came to me.

Getting over it was, in its own way, quite difficult to do....learning new routes to walk the dog, and remembering to take my torch and attack alarm.

I still can't look at the place it happened, but I'm ok at walking past it though.

You are right in what you say about Gary, he's been tremendously supportive to me.

Hi Vicki.

Good to see you are positive about it!!!!!smiley - biggrin

VFRgal an me work on the same princpal. She's always been strong but cracks up when i remind her about the pink elephants and white rabbit she saw on the ceiling whilst we were in hospital.

People couldn't understand how we still smiling when we were air ambulanced home 3 1/2 weeks later. But the hol was good, and the staff in the hospital were so smiley - cool (theyd all been bikers, all looked like they belonged on the set of young doctors and they all made us laugh).

The guy I hit came in to see us. I got my docs out and he just said "cars, bikes - who cares. I just wanted to be sure you were ok."

The gendarme who took the statement rang a friend in France 3 months later to see we were ok. Even though he'd just been posted to some place in Africa.

You can see why I like France.

Gotta go, working tonite. Catcha on the flip side!smiley - winkeye

It was good that you were so well looked after....there's nothing worse than having an accident and the nursing staff not being considerate towards you.....my sister has had 3 accidents now.....1 not so bad, 2 quite bad ones....you would have thought it would have put us off riding for life wouldn't you! smiley - laugh

It hasn't put VFRgal off either. She was at the NEC 3 yrs ago and visited NABDs stall in her wheelchair. the smiley - cooldude took the time to take us into the car park and help her sit on his Guzzi. smiley - biggrin

It's just not quite practical yet (7yrs).
