well the air is full of solder
the house looks a state,
and I dont think they are even half done yet
they've been at it since 8 this morning,
I dont know if the boiler is in yet or if they are still waiting on the vent...
from the little I can see from the computer desk... someone will be boxing in a lot of pipes tomorrow but the radiators do look much bigger
I think they were shocked we only had mini radiators throughout the house

they are threatening to condemn our gas cooker though... it has already passed it's gas saftey check this year so hopefully it will be fine and i wont be needing a new one of them before christmas

I hope to be able to update later once they have finished... the house is freezing they've had the doors open all day but i suppose once it's done we wont need to worry so much I hope...



after this i think i deserve a nice day off tomorrow... at college
at least I got that powerpoint finished

don't workmen swear a lot....

they have only just left... my poor home, they have put the new boiler in the linen cupboard... where will i put my towels and sheets?

Put the towels anywhere you like. The place will be so warm and cosy everything will dry and air in flash. Here's hoping

On my budget, yes if you need two of them

builders been and fixed the big hole in the wall from moving the gas pipe... and they put a shelf in the airing cupboard
yay...

rising steam has been dispatched hopefully it will come tomorrow... and I can read it over the weekend

we had chinese food tonight to celebrate the end of the destruction of our home
although i feel a bit ill now, I think i ate too much
or maybe i shouldnt have ordered the lasagna for lunch at college

anyway its been a nice enough day, tomorrow is human physiology, hopefully we wont be cutting up any organs so far we've done heart, liver and lungs...

thankfully no dissection today, tutorials instead

so I'm sitting here eating some treacle toffee (not my favorite toffee but nice enough)

this evening I shall be writing some parts of my personal statement (first draft due tomorrow) as we have admissions tutors visiting from cumbria uni


the city is slowly getting all christmassy, displays of lights have sprung up and gingerbread pictures, it feels like ages away but it does tend to creep up on you when your not looking

found a Twix I'd forgotten about in the bottom of my bag today
there is something wonderful about discovering forgotten chocolate
I also wrote my personal statement (mostly) it just needs some tidying up
we (by which I mean Joe) have been helping joes little brother move house (again) and we really need to decorate... perhaps it will get done before christmas but i wouldn't bet the turkey on it
Lancaster is a lovely city, not so big and full of tall buildings to feel imposing and unwelcoming but more vibrant than a town, unfortunately on fridays it is swarmed by a mass of charity collectors
now I will gladly throw my spare change into a bucket but they don't want your change... they want your direct debit details for £4 a week I think they were asking for today (red cross today i think) but I've been asked for more before...
now I know its a good cause but you can only give what you can afford and right now moneys a bit tight and I do give £3 a month to rspca I think that if i gave the minimum contribution to every charity i thought of as a good cause I'd be in debt...
haven't had a chance to read rising steam yet but it looks interesting and the synopsis holds much promise, not that I've ever been disappointed by Pratchett before...

an interesting book I do like trains...
not as much as I like saturdays
I'm at home alone in the quiet and I had a lie in...
so in return i washed all the dishes, swept the kitchen floor (it still needs mopping) and tidied the sitting room though it could do with a vacuum... where is the vacuum?
its starting to look more respectable now from after the heating fitters who I feel were very irresponsible leaving shards of copper wire and pipe offcuts everywhere not to mention the plaster dust and me with young children, honestly you'd never believe it!
I've got some cadbury's misshapes today which are alright in a chocolate emergency but not really up to scratch in the taste department
the boys (well daddy and ) are at the cinema for the cheap saturday film (the croods I think)
Charlie is with grandma so I could tidy up,
once I've properly finished i might just have enough time to play a bit more of my game how time flies
