i just found it strange that they were puting an outright ban on the stuff...

then again, when you here of your class mates getting completly besoterd on a school trip to london...
I mean a school trip... with teachers, you think they would have more sence.... even more worrying were the rummers that the teachers bought some of the drinks...

it seems a bit of a silly rule to me...i mean, uni is the time to experiment with stuff like that and decide it cause more harm than good etc etc, instead, some of these students are gonna get out of uni and go, ahh i can drink now, and will do so

Well I went to Uni and I never consumed alcohol...

the coridor in the halls I was in consumed vast amounts, they never got work done, they got freshers flu like 10times and I was never ill. They played loud music till all hours too. They then wondered why I was able to get to lectures in the morning and they coudn't. As I got in at lunch time after my first lot of lectures they were getting out of bed, even though I knew they had lectures all that morning.

They chose not to moderate their drinking, and it was more or less the same through the uni. Wasting so much money is stupid and its not experimenting, its trying to see how fast you can get kicked out

I think glasgow or edenburgh will be more... enjoyable anyway

(captain khamsin, that was kinda my point, you're the exception to the rule...i wasn't implying that everyone *should* experiment with alcohol etc at uni, but if people *are* going to, it's the time to do it...)
