Happy Birthday Ranger!

Thanks much, mate! It's been a bit of a slow day, but I'm starting to feel better, so things are looking up!
Hope your Thanksgiving went smoothly, not too much hassle with shifty ingredients
Happy Birthday Ranger!
Evangeline Posted Nov 29, 2003
Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Things were pretty slow at work today, couldn't wait to get home.
I finally(after much procrastination) tackled and wrestled those ingredients into: Baked Turkey wings, Oyster dressing(made with brown rice), Potato Salad, French Fried yams. We drank Sparkling cider. Dessert was Italian Cream cake left from my birthday. Not a lot of food, but then again it's just two of us.
While I was shopping Wednesday I picked up a leg of lamb, it was a really good price. That's tomorrow's cooking project.
How was your Thanksgiving?
Happy Birthday Ranger!

Sounds like a fine feast to me!
Things are pretty uneventful here. TV, books, and a few phonecalls. Still don't have any energy, but at least my congestion is clearing up, so I feel more human!
Happy Birthday Ranger!

I can deal with being congested...right up until my ears get stopped up. Xena will lend moral support by sleeping next to me if I'm not feeling well.
*slips a menthol(cough drop)into the *
What kind of books do you read?
Happy Birthday Ranger!

My ears just started clearing today. And I'm thinking I may be able to sleep lying down flat tonight, and still be able to breathe. Sure hope so, I'm tired of sleeping propped up!
My has been acting as a hot water bottle for me. The , on the other hand, are sick of me coughing and sneezing, and them not getting their scheduled when they want it
I read a little of everything, but mostly SF/Fantasy and mysteries. Just finished a fantasy (Anne McCaffrey, Crystal Singer) and am moving on to a Tony Hillerman mystery. Have spent a LOT of time reading these past couple of weeks!

Try laying flat, with a rolled up bath towel under your neck. It should support your neck and keep the airway a bit more open.
Xena will fight for the heating pad. Maverick would bark if someone sneezed. Well, anyone except me.
I'll read just about anything that isn't nailed shut: Science Fiction, History, Textbooks, Fantasy, Classic Literature, Mysteries, not so much popular fiction.
Happy Birthday Ranger!
rangerjustice (formerly warrior ranger) Posted Nov 29, 2003
I'll try the rolled up towel routine! Being propped up all the time is starting to do evil things to my lower back, but breathing is important, too
I'm kind of the same way with . I've got a bit of everything in my collection, but don't read a lot of popular fiction. And I can't stand the Harlequin Romance type stuff...if you're going to read porn, get REAL porn, not this "bodice-ripping" nonsense!

Place a pillow or cushion under your knees to relieve the pressure on your spine.
There is also a ton of cookbooks, a stack of old books and more than a few Charlie Brown books in that collection.
I haven't seen a Harlequin in years. I should probably admit that I don't like Stephen King's books. He's a nice man, and quite talented. I just can't read the books. I can't stand Anne Rice's books...tried to read them, really I did.

You're just a fountain of useful health info. Thanks!
You already know my fondness for Far Side. Also included are Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County, and Dilbert.
I can't get excited about Anne Rice or Steven King, but I do enjoy Dean Koontz. Which reminds me, I think I've got one of his that I haven't read yet sitting around here somewhere...

Don't ask how I learned that info. Fenuthyme (trademarked blend of fenugreek and thyme) worked wonders on my sinusitis.
I have the Calvin and Hobbes books. Mike has the Bloom County Books. But, the Joy of Work (at the expense of your co workers) is mine. There's a few Agatha Christie books around here somewhere...
*begins rummaging through stacks of books*

I may check the local health food store for that Fenuthyme. It seems like I get sinus infections on a real regular basis these days, and I never used to.
Why is it that no matter how many bookcases you own, you've still got piles of all over the place???
Happy Birthday Ranger!
Evangeline Posted Nov 29, 2003
Nature's Way is the brand name. Naturade makes a wonderful "Herbal Expectorant"(that *is* the name). Garlic fights all sorts of infections as well as lowers cholesterol.
Books multiply, which I don't mind so much as I mind the fact that my money won't no matter how much I try to encourage it. One repairman we had do some carpentry told us that this house has more books than any he has ever seen. Sad part is, I hadn't moved all of *my* books here at the time. Worse part is, that was ten years of book accumulating ago.

Books do indeed multiply, I notice that every time I move. Money, on the other hand, just talks. All mine says is "Goodbye!"

Feeling somewhat better, I think I may actually live! Had a shower, and was just debating whether I wanted to go into town for a little while, or stay put and not press my luck.
Hope all's well down on the bayou!
Happy Birthday Ranger!
rangerjustice (formerly warrior ranger) Posted Nov 29, 2003
Hey, was just looking at the Nature's Way site. Do you take that Fenu-thyme all the time, or just when your sinuses are acting up?
Happy Birthday Ranger!
Evangeline Posted Nov 29, 2003
Glad you are feeling better. It's cold, bright and sunny here. If your weather is the same, go out for a bit of fresh air.
If I remember correctly, the bottle says 3 capsules 3 times daily or as needed. If you have chronic congestion, quercetin and bromelain(enzymes) would be better daily supplements. There are a couple of brands that label it activated bromelain, or quercetin plus, in each case the supplement is the two enzymes together.
