"In all politics, by it's very nature, the politician must me schmoozed by big business, schmoozed by other nations, schmoozed by the media. They must also in turn do their own amount of schmoozing back! "
Couldn't have put it better myself, M8. Well said.
Billy Connelly also said (approximately): "Just by the fact that anyone would want to become a politician should automatically exclude them from being one in the first place."

Bob:At the risk of sounding arrogant (never), could you try that message again in different words, I have no idea what you mean!?!
Billy Connelly is hugely funny, and strangely enough looks just like my father(or does my father look loke Billy!) but he's not the bloke to be running anything, he's a self confessed looney! It'd be like Spike Milligan living a "Number 10". Funny but bloody useless!

(It's irrelevant anyway, Richard Branson will buy the world when it goes into bankruptcy and rebuild it into a thriving Virgin business!)

The difference between a comedian and a politician is that when the comedian's act is done, everyone had a good laugh and goes home. When the politician's act is done, everybody grits their teeth and the world goes to hell.

Watching the Democratic candidates debate.
"Osma Bin Missin" quote by Carol Mosley B(sp)
Finally! One candidate is speaking English & Spanish - It is about time! They are the fasting growing segment of our population. I hope it is translated on a spanish speaking station!
On another note the IRS is the last place you want to call for tax advice they are wrong 60%+ of the time! Do not trust their answers - you are responsible reguardless of bad advice given.

Abbi, go and have a dig aroundand have a look at the corelation between government recession and the amount of audits that occur in the US. When the Government is broke, they get the IRS to increase their audits and tighten the perameters so as to catch more people, even those who may not deserve it!
MH
(The more I see of the US Govt. machine, the more I am convinced that all of the conspiracy theories are most likely right!)

Yes the last few years they were going after the little guy while the corporations were raping the economy from a tax free off shore base.

Hmmmmmmmm? The US Govt seems to be a business itself rather than the benevolent leader of a country.

(The correct spelling of Republican is "Redneck")

? Republican = Redneck
Disagree but we may define redneck differently
Hm actually I would take issue with that here in the US.
It is not a clear line amoung the rednecks.
It is more likely to be about age and income.
It is the rednecks that have been losing jobs and health care and have no where for Mom to go when she needs total care or constant observation due to Alzheimers. It is the rednecks that get sent to war. Previously southern (some tobacco) farmers grow a cash crop the Rep are not known for supporting.
Republicans tend to have more money and community networks-anti welfare ( meaning any help for any reason is welfare)Although they are used to getting what they need through nepotism - a non governmental priveldged sort of welfare.
Websters;
red·neck
Pronunciation: 'red-"nek
Function: noun
Date: 1830
1 : sometimes disparaging : a white member of the Southern rural laboring class
2 : often disparaging : a person whose behavior and opinions are similar to those attributed to rednecks
- redneck also red.necked adjective
I would say the rich southerners are far more likely to be Republicans not the laborers but (0) would know about union workers!
Maybe he will happen along soon.(D-sys)

The proper definition of a redneck is a white man who's mother shaves his head with a mixing bowl on top. This insures he'll get sunburned rather like an Anglo-Norman knight might have if he'd dared pillage the countryside without benefit of helmet or hat.
Now in the knight's case, he didn't want his hair getting snagged in his baskinet, but the redneck has no such noble excuse.
So he votes Republican to prove he isn't an ignorant hillbilly but rather an ignorant suburbanite. He also shaves the rest of his head to show how truly bloated it has become.
Big heads equate to racial superiority among these hydrocephalics. That's why they have to enter indoor bathrooms arse first, but nobody usually notices.
